I live in a small community where an '05 is noticed by everyone. Almost daily someone tells me "I saw you driving downtown yesterday", "I saw your car in the parking lot at the store", etc. I've come to the conclusion the '05 would make a lousy getaway car if I ever decide to rob a bank.

Hey, hey, hey. Let's leave the highway robberies to the Ford dealers charging $5k over MSRP!

You probably couldn't be more right Tom!

Small towns are always very unique and self contained....

Funny - there are a lot more 05s hitting the streets down here lately..... so things were finally calming down in terms of folks stopping me or going out of their way to comment on the car every two days....

Then I upgraded the Dark Knight 2 to the Mark II version....

(which is still in progress - Eibach springs, SS ducktail, Gen 2 louvers to come by end of august <shameless plug>...)

I'll tell you, it is back like it was when I first got the car in Dec if not worse.... the RK Sport hood really grabs 'em..... I get comments at lights and out on the road all the time....

The other night I was driving home past midnight on a Sat.... guy in a beat up mini van and his lady pull up next to me while we are doing 40, BEEPING his horn with the window down and trying to talk to me about how great the car looks... THEN he asks me 'Is that the new Cobra?'

I almost said yes for the heck of it.......

Better yet - the other day, two guys in an import with a noise maker and custom exhaust pull into my apt development - I hear them getting loose out by the gate so I am like 'Alright - young guys playing around - whatever'

I am backed into the garage with the passenger door open getting groceries out and these guys crusie by the open garage door... through his open window I hear the driver say "OH poo!!" and lean hard on his brakes - throws it into reverse, backs up in front of my driveway, and starts going off -

"That hood is DOPE man.... that thing is BAD.... that's the BEST 05 I have seen man... I do NOT drive Fords bro - no way - but I would DRIVE that car!"

Dave,

Wow, I really love your car. Especially the hood. If I owned it, I'd geek out and install dual leds to simulate the Knightrider car in the scoops. God I'm so geeked out over the idea! The kid in me would love it.

I was stopped at a light today and someguy driving a Chevy minivan was making a left up the street. I had pulled a little over the line because the light had changed quickly and I didn't want to run through a bad intersection and get hit. He pulled up next to me as he was about to pass and I thought he was going to give me some grief because I was pulled so far ahead of the line. Instead he stops next to me and says "you have the nicest car on the road". Took me by surprise. I said "thank you" and he was off. Seems like no matter what anyone is driving, they seem to always stop and say something nice about the car.

Sorta same situation...even though I live in the big city, I've got the only Mustang GT in my immediate neighborhood/area.

They've finished pouring concrete into this new subdivision and I so badly want to practice/run it up on those loooong (tad over 1/4mi) streets they just made. Straight, open, tons of visibility...but alas...I'd be easily pegged.

I've decided to rent something non-descript like a GTO or Charger if I ever need to go incognito.

Haha, I work at a bank, and everyone tells me if we ever get robbed they'll be taking my car as the getaway. But it's Torch Red. They'd stick out like a sore thumb.
