Okay- so i just came up with an interesting idea..

like many i plan on buying an 05 GT but have been struggling with color options and frankly, im disappointed. I have thought about going putting stripes on and considered all the color options, but really none of them fit what im going for. the blue they are offering is simply too light of a shade, mineral grey is just kind of boring, and ive never liked red.

my new idea is to get an 05 in black exterior with the blue interior (if possible) and eventually repaint the exterior the traditional color blue from the GT500 '67 with white stripes. Additionally, I will be putting on different rims to capture a more classic look.

i know it will be somewhat expensive, especially since i will be getting it done very carefully to the parameters of a classic Shelby. but i was wondering what anyone thinks about this?

just an idea, thanks for any input
peace

The general consensus is that there *will* be a new Shelby Mustang based on the '05 body...eventually...so you have to think about the $ you'd be putting into the mods, and consider that you might regret it later. You could save up for when the *real* Shelby comes out.
I guess it's really still up in the air whether or not there will be one, but most people seem to think so.

yea, I was going through the same thing, but instead of a shelby, it was a boss.
i was planning on making the 05 look like a boss with the louvers and the rims, and the paint and blacked out hood and boss stripes and all. but once i found out that they might make a boss variant, that completely changed my mind. i dont want to be driving a boss wannabe when their are gonna be real bosses on the street

You do realize they are offering sonic, or whatever color blue it is in addition to windveil. Thats the exact same color scheme im thinking of except im probaly just gonna get a stripe job done in really dark blue.

I really need to see the sonic blue in person to decide, it seems too bright from what ive seen. id much rather see a darker blue more reminiscent of the Shelby's.

Sonic is a great color... looks lighter in the sun..
just check out a 2003-04 with the color... it looks amazing

If everything works out and I can buy an '05 it will be sonic... I want to see a good shot of an '05 in it as well
