I had ordered a GT, but it won't get built. I decided I still have many years ahead of me, so getting a V8 can wait.
I can buy a V6 off the lot, but I was thinking about talking to the dealership of getting me a V6 like I want it. I did order a GT from them, so are allocations shared or are they different between a V6 and a GT?

The V6s are being discounted so it might not be a bad move on you part. On the other hand, if performance was important to you before, a year from now when GTs are all over the place, you might regret it.

What I really want to know is since the dealer can't get GT's, is it possible that they can get a V6 for customers?
I am more into getting a 5spd manual, black, IUP, and ICAP. I'm sure 210 hp will do me well.

they do have a Black V6 w/ 5spd manual, but it has IUP lite, dk charcoal cloth seats, and Shaker 1000. I'm sure they can get me xplan pricing for it. I'll get that if it's impossible to order anything now, even a V6.

Ask if they can find what you want from another dealer, or check other local dealers yourself. Some folks have gone pretty far to find what they wanted off the lot.

At this point, if you find what you want, and it has been sitting somewhere for a bit, you should be able to get XPlan or better.

Good luck.

I think you'll like the V6! I've had mine for three weeks now and love it!

And with the money you save verus the GT, you can mod it later on!

As long as you are sure about your decision to get a V6, I am sure you can find something on the lot.

you might regret it by not waiting to get what you want

yeah i was in the fence before, I will be more than satisfied with a 6. A GT will be icing on the cake. We'll see what my parents say when they get back from vacation, especially my dad since this will be our car.
whatever they say will assure my decision, wether it's wait or get the V6 now, really I can't lose.
thanks alot guys

That black v6 has been sitting for 3 wekks. What worries me is having alot of test drive miles.
How many miles do you think will make it unacceptable?

I'm not sure you can decide if it has been test driven too much by mileage because 2 miles could be a bunch of 1/4 miles if you know what I mean. It is a mustang and was built to take some abuse so you will probably be alright

If that particular V6 doesn't have exactly what you want, see if you can have them find one that has exactly what you want, they can likely trade with another dealer.

If that ones been there for 3 weeks it may be that another dealer has your car that they can't get rid of. As you want the IUP and ICAP, that might make it a bit harder to find, but it doesn't hurt to have them look. If it comes down to IUP v. non-IUP, the dash pieces can be added later, and there are instructions on how to add the MyColor dash in the Audio and Exterior forum.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Manny, with the x-plan on that car, you are getting a lot of American Muscle car for your money. Sounds like you thought your decision through and I know you will be happy with your V6.

I know it is very easy to find a V6 on a lot, tough to find a "loaded" V6 though. Seems almost all dealers stock many Deluxe or stripped Premiums, all with autos.

This is why I ordered ours. (See sig.) If you are dead set on a Black Premium V6 with IUP and ICAP, I can almost gaurantee you will not find one on a lot. I really think that V6's with that combo are very rare......in any exterior color......probably way more GT's with IUP AND ICAP than V6's. (Any arguments?)

Anyhow, sounds like you will have yours before we do, enjoy it and if you want and can afford your "perfect" GT in a couple of years, go for it. I may be right behind you, who knows.

yep, I'm very happy with the options on that V6 on the lot. I will for a fact get my dream GT, or maybe an SE , in my near future.
Congrats on your order too, Snets.

Tommorow is just D-Day for me, I think it'd be real shady on their part not to give me the deal. I've put up with alot + that v6 has been sitting for while, so I am thinking pretty positively right now.
Well good night everyone, time for dreamland.

Anyone in So Cal going to the Fiesta Broadway btw.

Nice, as of a future date, it is scheduled to be built 2 days before that future date. Not the first time I've seen someone with this either. You would think that if Ford can see the future they would have built more cars.

It's Sunday morning and maybe by tonight we will read about your your new Mustang.

What I like about this site as opposed to the "other" site--and you know which one I mean--is that almost everyone is civil and and nobody jumps on you for wanting a V6. We're all Mustang lovers here.

Good luck today.

Here's a link to a test drive write up that I did o the V6 a few months ago. It was the test drive that made me deceide on the V6. Maybe that will help you deceide?
