See here's how it works here when something is mis-understood on TMS.

One says "what? that's not what I meant - I meant this..." Then the other guy says "sorry bro I took it the wrong way - I meant that". Or "no man - I was referring to that other post." Then when other guys carry the misunderstanding even further, they can either also say "wow - I read that wrong", or they can just move on.

But this personal attack crap with "NSFW" and "non-family" language doesn't stand at TMS. Never has - and Scott has retrained a bunch of ME folks. Unfortunately, not everyone can be retrained. You can't teach a dog to hunt.

I didn't really say that about you. I certainly wasn't thinking it when I wrote, but you know the internet - land of mis-understandings.

But I think it was post #2 that threw us all off kilter. And then the add ons by others only made it worse when they implied I didn't know what I was talking about.

my 4.0 has 102+k on it and its always ran great, but i`m a maintenance freak. at 80k sounds to me like your starting/performance issue could be solved with a good throttle body cleaning. to do it right, remove the throttle body( pretty easy) and buy a can of tb cleaner. dont remove the tb motor( blk thing on the pass side) and no need to remove the tps sensor(blk thing on the driv side). spray it out good and then use a clean rag and wipe it out till its shiny and clean inside. spray around where the butterfly shaft goes through the sides, make sure the o ring gasket is in place and re install the tb. i think you`ll notice a great improvement.
