So basically this S/E would probably be a simple cosmetic package? maybe wheel + tire upgrade, etc.

If it was a bullitt... I would jump on it
I would not be surprised if that's all the first SE was. Maybe it will get the 18 wheels, but I say NO IRS and NO HP increase.

I don't think there will be a SE with IRS & more HP until after the next SVT appears. [/b][/quote]
Unless a test drive convinces me otherwise, I will wait.

I think it will be fine. Remember, this is cranking 300+ horses, it will be enough to pull the weight. Average weight on a car is 4000 lbs now, so its considerably under that.

This is not an average car though, its a sports car, or pony car. THe Vette weighs 3000 lbs. THE STI weighs 3200 lbs. THe EVO I beleive weighs 3200lbs as well. Every other sports car weighs less! What are they putting on these cars?

It's bad engineering...really is.

Have you seen one in person? Driven in one? How do you know its bad then? Didn't you see the quote where dustin said the car lurches to the right when you floor it because of the engine torque? It will be able to pull its weight without a problem from everything people have been saying.

There is more than enough power to make this car feel lighter than what it actually is.

OK, I said this car was excellent in EVERY aspect except ONE! So SHHH!

Yes this car will feel quick that's not the point!

WEight is an extremily important part of performance! For instance this 300HP GT may only get low 14s in the quarter. If it weighed less, like 3200 or 3100, it could get low 13s or high 12s in the quarter. It makes all of the difference in the world. Ford is forgetting how important this is.

The Mustang has always been great for being light and SMALLER than the other cars. In the Muscle car ERA, the Mustangs hey-day, the Mustang was much lighter than all other Muscle cars yet, it still stuffed monsterous V-8s in it. WHY has Ford forgetten this?

assuming it weighs what Grantsdale said, 3470. And assuming it has 290-295 rwhp. I say you'll be seeing mid to high 13's

V10 did you tape record that conversation???? Either that or you got some amazing photographic memory. Guys I can vouch for those responses being accurate. I think V10 was the guy with me that was playing with the info center buttons.

The weight increase is helped also by the 3.55 rear end on the five-speed models.
