I still have not odered the Mustang vert I wanted to get. And I still have not driven one either! And here in Northern New Jersey I have just started seeing the new 05's on the road everywhere. Trust me I was getting depressed!

So I was driving home from work yesterday and was passing hertz at their Montvale location on the Garden State Parkway. They had this New redfire Mustang v-6 loaded with grey leather even, and only 100 miles on it!

I went in to see how much it would be to rent it for the day (39.00), and I ended up renting for the week! And after putting about 200 miles on it last night I can say this car is just awesome! And perfect too! For a v-6 auto this car awesome!

Well I guess for the next week at least, I can feel a little like Steve Mcqueen!!!! Even in a v-6!

P.S. I thought I was going to be killed when I got home for spending money on a rental car when I did'nt really need one. But guess who has been out all day with the new stang? Not me, she has been out in it since this morning. I was told I had to stay home and do spring clean up around the house! :bang:

That's pretty funny about your wife--maybe you'll be getting his and hers stangs in the future...

Enjoy the ride this week. I may do something similar one of these days, but I'm not sure if that would make the wait easier or harder.

That's great! I travel regularly on business, and rent with Hertz exclusively. I have been requesting the coupes for the past 8 weeks, and haven't got an 05 model yet! I have gone into the office, and asked several times, but no dice. I did end up with two 04s, with nearly 30K miles on each. I am going to keep trying until I get one. My wife thinks I am crazy...

Been there and one that! Always tried to get Mustangs when I traveled regularly a few years ago. And always rented them when the wife and I went on vacation trips and especially tried for verts. Hertz and Budget are the two companies that regularly rented Mustangs although I've only seen Hertz advertising '05s.

Yeah, I travel a lot and Avis has them in limited numbers. I travel so much that I have pretty good status with Avis though, so I usually get one.

They are a blast. It really gives you some respect for the V6 and I think everyone who has one (or is getting one) has a very fun ride on their hands.

I also think it makes the wait easier for me because I get my fix and I feel so good about ordering one and know that mine will be even better... because it's mine.
