Ok guys, here is my dilemma. I'd appreciate some advice. I can essentially get what I want right now for a good price. A torch red GT, automatic, 17 in mach wheels, anti-theft, charcoal int, shaker 1000, and int. sport pkg. I've driven it, it's a nice car.

Here's my problem. I would like the interior upgrade pkg., mainly for the customizable instrument colors and aluminium dash ribbing.

The problem is of course, availability. Everyone is telling me that it could be along time before I could get it, and even then it might be a 2006 model. So I was almost ready to go with this car that has everything except the int. upgrade pkg.

Now, with Ford releasing that statement yesterday, I'm wondering if I have a better chance of getting EXACTLY what I want within a reasonable amount of time.

What do you guys think? I don't want to "settle", but at the same time I don't want to wait forever and then have to get a '06 or something.

My suggestion, order and wait, even though the wait my seem like forever, it'll be worth it in the end. I'd order and then keep searching for one that you like, if you find exactly what you want sooner, then buy it and get your deposit back. The dealer won't care, they'll sell your car when it hits the lot anyway. Don't settle.

Buy a different car completely. This crap has really gotten ridiculous.

Where are you located? The wait seems to depend greatly upon where you are located. My IUP GT came in about six weeks. I'm picking it up Sat or Monday depending on when they have it ready.

They told me three months, but it was half that. I didn't think six weeks was too bad a wait for exactly what I wanted.

Check with your dealer to see how his allocations are and if you can get the GT that you want .A lot of dealers in some parts of the US have all there allocatios of GT's filled into the 06 build year.

Plus do a search to see if there is a car that is near you with all the options that you want .

If this car is a "got to have" check with the dealer on the cost to retro fit the GT with the IUP .Some of the members here have done that and ordered the parts. It is more costly but you get a car now .

I am located in Northeast Georgia. I have check every dealing in GA, TN, and NC that are within reasonable driving distance, but no luck

Anyway yeah, this is the statement I'm talking about...

http://media.ford.com/newsroom/feature_dis...m?release=20253

Man, I dunno. It's so frustrating, because I could go get that car tomorrow. It's so close to what I want.

Anyway, Nazqul, do you know what the situation for GA is like?

Thanks, not sure if this is good news or not . Are we going to lose quality to quantity? And the more there are the less valuable ours will be.

You can add IUP later. I've seen parts of it done on this site but I can't find the thread. So GO FOR IT! Buy that one then upgrade it yourself. Good luck I know it is a tough decision
Been waitin 8 weeks and I am C/U no VIN.

If you have the funds now....order.

One way or the other, you're going to wait. Order now and wait. Don't order and get an '06...you wait.

Unless the '06 has something you want that's not available on the '05, why wait?

My $0.02.

Personally I'm the type to wait and get exactly what I want at what I feel is a fair price (see my sig for the history of my waiting :bang: ) otherwise I'd be kicking myself for the next 5 years or however long I keep the car. But its a personal decision, you have to decide if you willing to put up with all the crap that the rest of us are going through.

it depends on how important those different color panels and color changing cluster is , imo its not worth waiting for but again thats just my opinion ,

i never ordered my car and i found one at a dealer that had pretty much everything i wanted and got it for 100 over invoice so thats why i got silver which was my 2nd choice to white but i wasnt about to wait months or pay over sticker just to get my first choice in color and honestly i love the silver now more then i ever did the white

i checked my dealer here in houston about maybe getting the billet style dash pieces and they said they could order any of the pieces but the one over the airbag came with the airbag so i would have to replace the airbag to get the silver color dash piece that covers it , not sure how true that is but thats what i was told

i know theres a thread on here about adding the "my color gauges" just do a search for it

good luck in what ever you decide
