Just called and as of 2/10/2005 my car has been serialized and is awaiting scheduling! I'm just happy that it's moved from C/U! I won't sleep at all tonight.

Now for my questions. Since I'm serialized, I assume this means I have a VIN. Where do I get that? Should I call my dealer for it or is there some other way to get it?

From searching, I see that when folks get serialized, they typically receive a build week within a day or so. Is this consistent for everyone? If so, I'll be calling 19 times a day, so if VOPC goes down from overuse, you know who to blame!

Based upon posts from other folks here recently, I'm seeing build weeks get assigned 3-4 weeks out. If that's accurate, I'm thinking I'm 6-8 weeks out from receiving my car. Am I right?

Your replies are VERY appreciated!

Sean

I think you just answered your own questions....

Order, wait, serialization/vin, wait, buildweek, wait, get car

That is so incredibly frustrating seeing people who've ordered likr than 2 weeks ago getting their orders pulled when mine (and others) have been C/U since oct/nov....

I know you had nothing to do with that, just venting, congrats

I think we should make a list on here someplace with dealers that clearly have such low allocations that they are worthless to buy from.

I have been wondering the same thing. My dealer said they had 1 Mustang in front of me for orders, perhaps that was fewer than others with longer wait times so far?

Any confirmations on my questions yet? I can't sleep so I'm waiting for anyone's thoughts.

I ordered 4 days before you and reading this got me excited, so I called. It said as of 2/9 it's still unscheduled. How did you get 2/10?

hmmm

Your dealer should have a VIN for you when you call in the morning. I found out my build week the very next week and I think delivery is normally around 2 weeks after it's built. Congrats!

Hi Sean- thanks for starting this thread. As of 2-10 my vehicle was serialized and I had the same questions you did. Looks like we are one step closer to getting our cars.....WOO HOO! Its so nice to be out of "clean and unscheduled" limbo.

I ordered my '05 on 1/5/05, got a call today (2/11/05) that it's scheduled to be built on 2/14/05 and delivered on 2/23/05.

Black Clearcoat/Red leather
IUP & ICAP
5 speed manual
Theft deter.
Bullitts w/ wheel locks
Spoiler delete

Seems like unusually fast build and delivery dates compared to how long some of you have been waiting.

I guess I have to edit my sig too! Checked Thursday and it told me 2/9 c/u. After reading this thread (and seeing all the 2/10 references!) I called again. Serialized! 6 weeks or so to go!

Cool news! I hope I'm not far behind. I called a few minutes ago, and I'm still c/u as of 2/9.

It seems really odd that so many of the people who ordered before January have orders that are not going anywhere. It wouldn't surprise me if Ford has lost most of the orders before the IUP issue was resolved, and now they are sitting in some lost computer database. :bang: Why else would an order from Oct. still be in limbo, when an order fom Jan. is being built?

I called this morning and the system says c&u no serial as of 2/9 and I only ordered 3 weeks ago but I love to worry the H*ll out of my dealership so I drove up to it this afternoon because thier web site showed they got 2 GT's in yesterday for stock with IUP! I only work 6 miles away Anyways I talk with the sales manager some more (weekly Ritual) and he buzz the owners office who had someone in with him at that minute who had just test driven a Torch Red GT with IUP, he said for me to wait just a minute for him. After the guy left he came to me and said that he would make sure that my car is pull this coming Thursday, he said he would call fords regional office to make sure! He told me to expect it 45 days after it's pulled. I will Definitely post to let You all know if it REALLY happens but let me say this, it's not a big dealership so I was able to get right to the owner and they have had 5 or 6 GT's come into them in the last month, the last two with IUP.

As a side note, my salesman called me this morning to tell me the good news and I said "dude, welcome to yesterday". Funny stuff, anyway he said he bet that he could trump me, so I said "shoot". He informed me that my priority has been updated by Ford to "01".

I'm sure that's probably in line with the status getting changed to serialized, but still pretty cool to know that Ford considers me #1. Wait, you mean MULTIPLE people can be at Priority 01? Aw nuts, I thought I was special.

I waited until Monday after getting pulled to get a build week, but it said as of Feb. 3 just as it said Friday when it said I was serialized. As for when it will arrive my dealer said it should be here the first or second week of March. The most interesting part is a week or so ago they got a GT almost identical to mine. The difference is it has the upgrade wheels, the spoiler delete, and dark charcoal interior. But it had full IUP, so it looks like they're catching up on that issue.

I can't believe it, but I just called the VOPC number, and mine has been serialized!

This is cause for serious celebration...
