Okay I just bought a 2008 mustang, I read online that there is an iPod connector inside the middle console?

Yea I have one inside the storage in the center console. But mine is a 2011 so I'm not sure if it's in all years made.

There's a 12V power outlet and a Ipod plug...you have to provide your own cable...

Those are what I had in my 2009 before I replaced the stereo. 12V power plug, and a mini jack for connecting from an ipod headphone port. Not the big ipod connector, just the miniplug.

And the cable you provide is a miniplug to miniplug. one end into the console "Line In" and the other into the volume control of the ipod. A very basic hook up. You will still have to use the ipod to scroll through music, skip, etc. so you might want to get a cable long enough to lay the ipod on top of the console or in the cup holder.
