I've been fighting with my dad about this, and since I won't be getting my "Black Sunshine" until May , I can't find out the true answer. I've heard yes and no. Does anyone know if you can do a burnout in the new mustang? If you can, what do you have to do to do a burnout and how long can you spin the wheels for?
Also, how fast have you guys taken your mustang up to?

Maybe you guys are better drivers than me, but I wouldn't feel safe doing that with people (esp. so many) so close.

On another note...are you kidding? What kind of car do you and your dad think this is?

The traction control can be turned off, I haven't stepped on the brake while doing one yet, but yes, you can smoke them. So far I've been up just over 120... wasn't watching the speedo that much at that time.

See, I just asked this question because I was reading a magazine and they said that you couldn't do it in a stock mustang because of the computer or something wouldn't let you. But they said you could tune the computer so that you could do a burnout. (Just to let you know, I said it was possible, it was my dad that said it wasn't. Those Chevy guys )
Thanks for the awesome video!

woah..... I dont have the guts to do 140 and I wont anytime soon. but burnouts are easy in a manual car with a big engine..... just rev it about halfway to redline and dump the clutch (take your foot off pretty fast) while you mash the gas to the floor. then just let up on the gas or hold it on the floor depending how much power the car has and how much you want to waste your tires

Hmm .. so the person before me that said the same exact thing isn't doing the same thing?

Notice I edited my post. I added that line in just to see if someone would comment like you did. Reputations are a great thing.

Yup, you want to get to about 5k rpms and dump the clutch as you are pressing the gas. You don't want to drop it all at once, you basically want to let off the clutch at the same rate you are pressing the gas. (Note: quickly)

Because Grantsdale wounldn't be Grantsdale if he "just answered the question". It's what makes him him & we love him for it.

BTW Grantsdale what happend to your signature?

BOT~Seth tell your dad to search the internet & he'll see you CAN do a burnout. You just gotta know how & have somewhere to light them up.

Yeah, so much better when theres a couple of little chirps and you can see my rear end getting smaller quickly!
