Well I ordered a GT on January 16, 2005.
Around April they said I was still 60 in line and it was impossible for me to get one, so I decided I could hapily settle. I am still young and have no worries I would enjoy a performance car in my future, so this V6 was more than enough car for me.
Well today they call (5 minutes ago) and tell me they have a black GT IUP, ICAP, 5spd manual, and It was just a big blow to recieve!
I know when my parents come home they are gonna give me the "You should've waited" "I told you so" speeches. There is little to no hope on trading up, but I just have to relief some pressure.
This is not a good feeling, I almost feel bad for my current Mustang. I know it, and it isnt just a car, so I feel bad not liking it as much as I did before the call.

Well catch you all later. I'll be alright.

Dude.
Sorry to hear that. You have a great car though, so dont get so down on yourself. At least you got one. It was a gamble. You could have waited and got nothing, so all the "could-a, would-a, should-a" stuff doesnt really matter at this point.

I was just wondering why they would call you knowing you allready bought something else? Kindda rude of them if you ask me,

CHEER UP MAN!!!

Patience is a virtue,

having said that, you can always trade the V6 in a year or two for a shelby

sorry to hear that but that is a perfect example as to why I never settle for something I really don't want. If you don't get exactly what you wanted in the first place you are never really happy.

Brother Manny, ANYONE would feel something in that situation I think.

Funny how we get about cars, isn't it.

You'll have other opportunities. Don't let one take you out. I missed getting a '05 exactly how I wanted it by hours. I have an '06 ordered now and have a build date.

Your day will come. Enjoy your beautiful V6. They have their own unique and gorgeous character - pure 67-68 to me!

I'm ok with what I got. It caught me by surprise when they called saying my car is ready.
At 1st I was WTF?
Then I felt like kicking the guy, and he was then saying congrats, how do you like it so far?

They are the same dealer I used to purchase so I would assume they would know and take me out their order records. I suppose it's more anger toward him, and almost teasing me and waving something better in front of my face.
Like I said this is just a temporary feeling (kinda wearing off) just needed to relieve myself here.

Thanks guys

Indeed. Especially if you're putting out $20,000...

Nope don't feel bad for me, I'm all cool now. We should be feeling bad about that guy who called though, or maybe just a bit.
Theres only one thing I would do if I went to Citrus Ford and it wouldn't be to upgrade.

A black '05 5-speed is still an awesome car for a young guy still living at home. Like you said, there are more cars in your future.

I'm sure they left your name on the order, and whoever called didn't know that you'd already gotten the V6.

I had the same thing happen when I had a 99 GT on order... I ended up needing a car before it came in, so got something else. When the dealer called and told me my GT was in, it was tough to take at first.

I know that sick feeling. This is different but I ended up with GHIN (Gotta Have
It Now) when the '89 Probe came out in '88. I can get the "A" plan and I buy
it and then can't sleep 3 straight nights. Then I really grew to love that car and
eventually it gave me trouble so along came the redesigned '94 Stang.

Perhaps you'll really be happy when/if you trade in for the next (albeit slight)
redesigned Mustang GT. Keep driving safe and I hope you get plenty of
opportunities to enjoy mustangs down the road.

Turns out my parents said the same thing
I don't have my hopes up, but I'll call tommorow. At least if it doesn't work out I have my own car to fall back on

Well goodnight, this is better than therapy btw lol
