Didn't this stuff just about kill sales of the new T-Bird?I seem to remember a price of close to 50,000 for one that was in the show room for like 3 months.I went with my Dad to see it because he and my Mom feel the same way about the T-Bird as I do about the stang. When they told us that's what we are getting for them we had a good laugh and walked out. We would go in every 2 or 3 weeks and give them a hard time. They may move a few at that kind of price but that will be to folks that must have the first one in the hood. How do you think they will feel when they are still upside down after 3 years.

Today I dropped by the ford dealer in Roanoke, Va. I had previously been to four other dealers in or around Lynchburg. All four of these were not above MSRP. Well.....they had a V6 with something like a $2500 add-on for transportion since the car came from Texas??????? IMO anybody paying above MSRP is just helping perpetuate this BS!

Yup! Happened here in Canada. T Bird sat on the showroom floor for over a year. Finally they had to drop the price like $15,000 I heard, just to get rid of it. But the car was extremely overpriced to begin with! Dealer said the reason the price was so high, because they only made so many of them.

These dealers are so full of it!

At Starr Ford in Glendale, CA they had an LX with a 3,000 THREE THOUSAND DOLLAR MARK-UP selling for 26k and some change.
What is an LX? I haven't heard of Ford reintroducing the LX Mustang for 05.

On another note, price gouging and fixing is going on everywhere the 05 is sold.

What I'm waiting for now is a used one - the first guys, probably within 6 months, that are gonna be selling their 05's because they can't afford it - that's when you can get a good deal.

The dealers around me pulled the same BS with the Mach 1. They were asking $5K over sticker.

Those $30K GT prices are outrageous. I mean, even for a Premium, that is a large sum of cash.

I can't imagine someone paying this much over MSRP

Is it me or is every mustang that's for sale on Ebay?
In two years when this numb-nuts goes to trade in his '05 on something else, his depreciation WON'T be calculated on the full $40,000 he ultimately paid for the car, either!

I just hope the people bidding on eBay are doing so for a lark under phoney handles to teach that shyster dealership a lesson. If not, there really is a s-u-c-k-e-r born every minute.

LX refers to the V-6 stangs.

25K MSRP - after options - 27K - no dealer mark up.

Frontier Ford of San Jose, CA's dealer has only one so far the one I talked about in another thread. Great deal for leather, great color all those options 300hp and all for quite under 30 grand.

I paid full sticker price for my redfire GT with everything but shaker.1000 for $27825
Dealer was Valley Ford in Hazelwood, MO. I had the honor of paying that price because it was the first GT in the ST. Louis area. They had a v6 in stock last night but I did not ask the price. Someone will have to post a sales slip before I would believe under MSR at this time. The end of DEC. may be a different story as they have to pay the tax on any unsold. I plan to purchase another one in March 05. Same color but an automatic.
