I called the robot lady this morning at about 7:45 local time and got a live man that asked me some questions concerning codes and numbers that I did not have because they were not on my VOC. They were not my dealer code, order number, or body code which I do have. He then asked me for the name of the dealership and my name and if I were a customer or a dealer. I told him I was a customer inquiring about my order. I was politely told that I am not supposed to call the number and that only dealers are supposed to call the number. He told me to call my dealer to check the status of my order. So I guess we can't check the weekly status of our orders anymore. I only call once a week on friday. DARN! Did anybody else encounter this problem. It was fun being able to check on our orders without bothering the dealers.

I called this morning and got the ERL. Try again. You probably got shifted for a quality call or the ERL was busy talking to me.

I called this morning to check for Thursday updates... Unfortunately she couldn't understand me when I said 8-0. I've been noticing that ERL has been having a hard time understanding me lately. I'm going to have to try a different phone.

Also... Anyone else notice that ERL sounds like Barney when talking?

you have to talk really loud to her - the female dog needs to know who's boss - she was back talking me a bit, but a firm load voice gets the job done.

Yeah, try reading her a VIN number. No matter how loud, clear and distinct you prounounce the letters/numbers, she reads back something completely different. Try it for a good laugh.

I just called myself and got a live person too. I just hung up. Could it be that Ford found out about us using their number?

I'll try again this afternoon........

I went al the way through the ERL and at the end, when I said "yes," she told me that "the automated vehicle status system could not check on my order, please hold for an analyst." I think not.

I wonder if they are randomly pulling calls into humans for screening, or if they are tagging certain orders for screening based on the number of times that order has been checked.

Or... it could just be chance. Maybe they are having problems with the system this morning. Maybe I am not paranoid - maybe everything is going to be juuuuust fine.

I think it just has to do with the call weight on the ERL system. It can probably take X calls and every call above X is kicked to the live analyst.

I think it must have been a phone overload. I just called and got the
same status I' ve been receiving for 10 days.

I did call the FCRC a couple days ago and spoke to a nice lady who
said my car should be delivered to the dealer anytime between now
and the 23rd.

You know, what is wrong with us calling about our car? Ford should just turn into Amazon.com and let us order online. Get rid of the middleman dealer all together and save us and Ford some money.

And we could then check our order status online and not have to talk with the ERL.

Well, I got through using the automated ERL system......

She said it was "Locked in, and scheduled to built on the 21st!"

Yeah! I'll be using the custom floor mats that I got sooner then I thought!

ERL is effed up! I called for the heck of it and she said could not process information. (after entering 3 times) she can't distinguih a Z from a C. Then when I say Z again she comes back with A?? How do you get an A from a Z??? :bang: Anyway, My dealer said the car was built yesterday and scheduled to arrive April 2nd. She hasn't worked for me yet. :notnice:

Sure, as soon as you buy the car, you can get the status. But until you purchase it from the dealer, it isn't you car, no matter what you'd like to believe. You are calling an unpublished business number that isn't meant for you to use. Don't complain if they don't let you use it.

Also, your "plan" wouldn't save Ford any money. Ford builds the car at price X. They then sell the car at price Y no matter what. The dealership then sells it to you at price Z. Ford's profit is Y-X, and the dealer's is Z-Y. If you used your "system" you'd just be paying Z to Ford, not the dealer. And it would actually be worse, because you wouldn't be able to haggle. It would be a certain price, probably MSRP, take it or leave it.
