I believe Ford has changed the stock 17" wheels for 2007!
OK, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed on most days, but every single shot I've seen of 2007 GT's with the 17" standard wheels seems to be lighter in color. At first I thought it was the flash of the cameras. But after hanging out on StangsUnleashed.Com... and looking at all the new '07's roll off the line where the flash could not 'lighten' the wheels, it looks like this to me:
Ford has discontinued the 'argent' (dark grey) standard 17 inchers and moved to the 'painted silver' (brighter) wheels. I've not seen ONE '07 GT or Pony Package with the argent...
Look for yourself, then beware of the bricks!!!

Nothing in the order guides, either (I believe). Just thought that was strange...
Think of it this way. How many TMS'ers are ordering 18" wheels because they believe the stock 17" are the darker bullitts. Maybe some would order their cars with the stock wheels if they knew they were the lighter wheels that were previously shown in the aftermarket wheel catalog...

Good observation Stan. I would add the remote possibility that they just never were painted at all. I believe that the order code for the stock bullitts remained the same. Perhaps some part number checking by KC could shed some additional light.

Then, in 2008, Ford comes out with the Bullitt in Dark Highland Green with the Argent Bullitts like the '68 and VOILA! You have a unique car when everybody and their brother orders a DHG GT or Pony Pkg but not the SE Bullitt.
OK, I used 3 brain cells. Let's keep that between YOU and ME.

Not loving the silver.
Maybe I'm just not used to them yet, but the silver Bullitts look like cheap aftermarket to me. Or a backyard repaint with a can of Rustoleum. I'm thinking not enough people were ordering upgraded wheels, so they made the standard ones less attractive.
Or maybe I'm just cranky since it was almost 100 degrees here yesterday and my A/C isn't working at the house...

Ah..you'll want to change them anyway. I liked the bullits just fine until I started looking at aftermarket rims. If you keep visiting the forums, you will end up thinking you have to change them...lol..at least I did.
