I am Legend Movie Mustang

Ok, just saw a trailer for the new Will Smith movie, "I am Legend"

In the scene he was racing around the city in what looked like a Torch Red S197 GT but it had a white Pony stripe.

Anyone have info on this?

Yep it was a GT500. There was a poster of it floating on this site before i even saw the first trailer. Back then no one knew what it was about, I thought it would be some kind of car movie.

Personally I have mixed feelings about this movie. I'm rarely a fan of Will Smith and his bigger than life bravado. Smith is re-making a movie done by another actor with a bigger than life bravado, Charleton Heston. Heston was in the 1971 version of this movie called "The Omega Man".

And before Mr. Heston you could see the 1964 Vincent Price version entitled "The Last Man on Earth".

Rarely anything new in Hollywood!

I think Will Smith will be 10 times better than Charleton Heston. An older guy at work recently told me to watch Omega Man while we were talking about I Am Legend. Charleton Heston was a fat, out of shape, and cheesy actor in Omega Man. Even my wife said theres no way someone that fat and out of shape ran and exercised like he did in the film. Now Will Smith, he fits the part alot better, and I thin is a better actor.

Will may not be the best actor in the world, but I dig most of his movies. I personally can't wait for it to come out. BTW the movie is actually based on a book, and the first version was so bad the author wouldn't let them acknowledge it. And yeah I think this is the 4th reiteration. Saw that in a magazine the other day, but don't remember which one.

I am a Will Smith fan myself, but Charlton Heston is the real deal and if you had to pick somebody to buddy with when the proverbial crap hits the fan it would have been Mr. Moses. He might have been getting a bit old by the time he made Omega Man, but even so he would still have been my pick for back up if the chips were down and Heston and Smith were my choices. Charlton Heston was cheesy in omega man because it was a cheesy 70's film, but it is diffiult to argue that Will Smith fits the part better when you look at the life experience Heston had under his belt even then. Now, if I were cruising the streets of Miami and I needed a wingman it would be Will all they way.....

+1! Back in 1971 most movies were cheesie! That was simply the norm in that period...

Will Smith gets cudos in my book for his performance in Independence Day. Unfortunately he also gets a for the Wild Wild West. Now if I could only forget Blossom and the Fresh Prince of BelAir...

Gee I don't know, he was 47 when that picture was made. I was 205 lbs and 6' at 47 and I excersized and ran like that. I was still putting on 80 lbs of firefighting equipment and fighting fires in the hot Florida sun at that age.

"I am Legend" would be even better if it was Will vs Camaro driving zombies! Will could blaze away in his GT500 smoking the undead as they chased him down in all those old 1-4th gen F bodies.

So then you're saying that the Camaro is so easy to drive that an undead zombie could drive it like a racer?

Wow, high praise there...

I videoed both episodes of "Shooting Cars" on the Speed channel that shows how the scene was filmed where the GT500 blows through the showroom glass and lands on the street. Now, for the coincidences:

I bought a red/white striped GT500 (just like in the movie) last month. The movie will be released on Friday, Dec 14, 2007. This is my birthday. I was also born on a Friday. Guess this means I'll have to go see the movie, then go drive my car like I stole it...

No not at all, everybody knows that in addition to making no sound (the dead are always silent - go figure), they are highly motivated!
