How much did it cost to paint your CDC chin spoiler?

I just got an estimate of around $400 to paint the CDC chin spoiler body color. Seems high to me. Just wondering what you all paid.

TIA

That seems extremely high to me , my shop which usually charges more than other shops in the area was only $250 ...

I live in San Diego and it only cost me $125. Tacobill lives in LA county and I believe his cost him about the same. $400 sounds like the cost of painting an entire bumper or hood. Way to high.

$3.59 + TAX

But that cause I painted it satin black with a spray bomb.

Touch ups are easy though, and matches the rear spoiler I painted too.

I'll be ordering mine from atlantamustang.com prepainted for under 400 with shipping. Every local shop I went to here in Miami quoted me a large sum, and the guy I know who did all the body work on my old car isnt in town anymore. So yeah, ordering it prepainted my car color for that exact reason.

I spent $125 as well, the shop was painting another VB the same week. They already had the paint and the shop does excellent work.

I know I can get it pre-painted from atlantamustang.com for about $380. Thing is, what iIwant to do is keep the center of the chin spoiler textured black, and just paint the corners body color, like the pic below:

So I figured I'd buy it painted textured black (about $255) and have a shop paint the corners. The $400 estimate was to paint the whole thing. When I asked about painting just the corners, he said that would be more like $300. Ridiculous. So now I'm going to get other estimates, but it's helpful to know what others have paid for comparison.

I live in Ft.Laude. Try JA customs in pomano. I think he did my friends for like 100-150.

Way too high. look for someone who does body/paint at their house, or a smaller independent type shop. A real good source for people that do this kind of thing is to ask someone from the local street rod club, they always seem to have conections or have someone in the club that does it themselves. Good luck. Interesting scheme on the spoiler by the way. post some pics when you get it done.

I really like the idea of painting only the sides of the CDC chin...somebody like Atlanta mustang should offer that, it'd probably sell pretty well.

I had mine done that same way. It's funny that you referenced that photo....I was inspired to do it after seeing that as well.
I had the chin spoiler and the hood scoop painted and with the hood scoop installed it cost me $325.00. I installed the front spoiler myself. I had gotten the textured black spoiler and the painter wet sanded the side corners for a smooth finish before painting. All in all it turned out pretty well.

$400 sounds right if they match the paint to your car and mix it themselves. $200 sounds right if the just open a can of paint that is supposed to match your car.

I would call atlantamustang and see if they would paint it the way you want it. They have different shops that do the painting for them.

Hey where did you go for the paint job? Was it a good job? I am going to need to get some parts painted in the upcoming months.
