1st come 1st served was the way I was raised. And that is how I would do it if I was running Ford. Those who ordered 1st would get it. After I ran out you could either wait or settle for less, GT or V6 reguardless.
This is probably the best suggestion.....with 1 little twist: All customer orders (IUP)should be honored before regular dealer allocation.

the problem with that is there were even TOO many preorders with it. To satisfy them all on 1st come 1st served would delay more people's cars than just saying put a hold on v6.

Whoever ordered first should get i first regardless of car.

Also has anyone proved the shortage yet? My dealer hasnt had a problem getting either car in and the IUP doesnt look like it takes many special parts, a few extra aluminium items and some silver paint.

well, that's basically the way it is going, just not accepting v6 orders with IUP right now

And whoever handled the original ordering/supply matrix for the car should be fired immediately.

Question about the Aluminum.

There is a rental Mazda sicks out in my driveway my daughters grandma rented, the vents and aluminum are the same as the car who deserves it.Even though it is a rental, the aluminum around the shifter is all dinged and scratched. Looks like Hades!!

My mothers liberty has the same, and its all scratched as well.....

Can we expect the same with the 05?

I would expect the same scratching if you wear rings on your right hand or if you have razon sharp finger nails....

If there are more GT's ordered than V6's & more people want IUP than anticipated. Then why aren't all GT"s on hold & the V6's get the IUP? Since escentially it's the GT's fault. I think that I ordered IUP & I WANT IUP!!!!! V6 or not. Just because those who bought the GT's are paying more money for their car does not make their car anymore important than the people who odered before you & choose the V6.

JMO. And I am sure now that I have emailed Ford again they are aware of my opinion too.
Cheers mates

I think the whole idea of the V6's not getting the is rediculous. Are people forgetting that (as stated above) the V6 Mustangs outsell the GTs by a decent ammount? I'd be thrilled to have an '05 Mustang V6. And that it wouldn't make sense for Ford to not make a $400 option available to their higher-selling model since it would bring them more money? Just because the car doesn't have a V8 doesn't mean it's not important and that it less of a car. It's just not as fast or expensive. I would love to have a GT, but I'd be thrilled to have ANY '05 Mustang right now. If I bought the V6, I'd demand to have the IUP. If it were never an option on the V6, then it wouldn't be an issue. But since we know it is/was and we have seen how huge of a difference it makes in the looks of the interior, there's no way I personally would buy any Mustang without it.

What I do agree with is that if there's a supply shortage, first of all the supplier needs to get their head out of their *****. And also, any and all preordered cars should have priorirty to the IUP, my color, or any other feature in jeapordy of running out. It's the fair way of doing it. It's mainly the die-hard Mustang fans that preorder their cars. Someone who's not such a big fan is more likely to just buy off the lot. Unless they just can't find anything they like on any lots.

feel free to tell me I am wrong but,
I am pretty sure the shortage is not the aluminum peices but the guages and there are 4 different sets of guages(not counting Canadian guages)
1. V6 no IUP
2. V6 IUP
3. GT no IUP
4. GT IUP
all GT guages go up to 140 and all V6 guages go up to 120. IUP I think gets extra guages for both GT and V6

if this is true you cannot simply give V6 guages to GT's(or the other way around)
so I think this topic does not even make sense.

the gage itself isnt the problem, it's the gage LIGHTS that's in short supply, which can be used on the V6 and the GT.

gotcha

If I had one ordered on hold then I would want it NOW without mycolor as long as I could get it with the aluminum dash and other IUP benefiets
it looks so much better in my opinion
