Got the X- pan for the 2006 black gt. IUP, premium package, dark charc leather,18 inch fans.Every option except, side air bag , anti theft( aftermarket), Shaker 100(after market) The price $26,280.00.
My friend is the general manager and he said that It could be awhile for it to come in. I realize that their is usually an 8-week wait when ordering a car from factory.WHAT WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE ????
Also- How long did ya have to wait for a vin number???
Thanks ,
Tony

VIN should be available a few weeks after the DORA. Check my sig for current dates. Should be about two more weeks until delivery. I ordered a tungsten vert dark IUP, fan blades, spoiler delete, alarm.

I had just the opposite happen for a TMS member. The car was scheduled a day or two after I ordered it in Dec '05 and he told me it was too soon so I have to re-order next week.

We should all start e-mailing ford to hurry up and start building our orders. It could move them along if they are pushing unsold cars through the line before us.

I waited 18 weeks just for it to be built, another 4 after that for delivery. Pshaw, four months? Consider yourself lucky. X-plan orders don't always get the highest priority. (I was X-plan, too).

Everyone kept saying "It's worth the wait" or "It'll be here soon enough".
It was rough but I tell ya, it IS worth the wait. Would I go throught it all over again? In a heartbeat. Waiting and joining your build week support group on TMS is part of the experience!

Bono's throwaway lyric from Original of the Species? "New Mustangs aren't delivered to those who can't wait..."

Lets see how about a quick rundown of events. I went in and ordered a GT on aug 26. Katrina hit New orleans on the 29th and you know what that did! After storm the dealer opens up and I ask about my order. They said it was in but I didnt think it was because they couldn't produce paperwork for me to call the erl. Turns out it wasn't ordered because the guy who should have put it in didnt return after the storm. So order goes in finally on nov 14th and every thing goes smooth and quick. Until it gets held up and built a few days later than expected, but it was still on its way to being delivered on the 23rd right before xmas. Wrong...never got shipped out...plant shut down...finally gets shipped. Long and short of it I should be getting the car on Monday or Tuesday finally.

To add salt to the wound my friend decides he wants a gt as well, but he placed his order after the storm when they re opened around oct 18th. He got his car in late nov...has a few thousand miles on it!!! Arrgh at least I got to drive his some :bang:

Tony,
ordered 6/13, picked it up 8/2 so a little over 6 weeks. It is worth the wait.
Have you figured out what you need to get out of the 95 and when it might be available?

Hey Scott, better call your dealer and get an update. I know dealer allocation plays a big part in the timeframe, but I got serialized in 3 days. I'd start asking questions...

Ordered an '06 on 6/11/2005. They didn't start building '06's until 8/5, of course.

Took delivery 9/7/2005.
