How do you find out what your dealer's allocation is? Last year when I wanted an 04 Mach most dealers around here only were allocated 2 per dealership. So if the dealership I ordered from already has gotten in 2 GT's and 2 V-6's could that be delaying getting my VIN. I ordered a GT manual with IUP but after looking at IUP decided against it. So deleted it. I also ordered the spoiler. I ordered 11/14 and still no VIN

You could ask your dealer if you can look at his Allocation Report. This report shows the weeks of allocation and how many vehicles are allocated for each week. He should be able to point to a week and tell you "that is your car".

Just called ford and she told me that allocations only apply to stock vehicles not customer orders. BS or true?

BS. If this were the case every order placed on a Mustang, on any hot vehicle for that matter, would be entered as a "sold" order. You only get a certain amount of units total and you can use them however you see fit, stock units or sold units.

Yes BS! Allocations is how many orders a dealer can place. Those orders can be either stock or pre-sold. Either way they are still "orders."

In fact I dealt with two dealers. The first one said they do not have enough allocation to order mine. The second dealer told me right off the bat; "I am one of the few dealers who have enough allocations to get you an order."

Update. Today the guy that does the orders for the dealer called. And he admitted that all their allocations for 2004 were used up already when I ordered. Anyway I am next on the list. Deleting IUP did NOT delay my order like the ford lady told me and that he will hopefully have the car 6 weeks from the 1st. Might still be here for Valentines day.

Wink

Same thing happened to me with the allocations. I ordered mine the week before Thanksgiving. My dealer told me the plant had received and accepted the order on Dec. 1st. Said it would be about 2 weeks before they would know my build date. Called yesterday and they told me that because the allocation for Dec. was used up, my car was one of the first 2 for January's. What he said was he expected to have the VIN mid January, and he hoped I'd have my car by the end of January. I'm not sure if he's just being optomistic, or feeding me a line to keep me from having a tantrum. I'm holding to my personal hope of having it by Valentine's Day too. But then again I'm a romantic.
