hood ideas for 09 gt

Hey guys I'm really looking for a cowl hood with heat extractors on the cowl. I saw the zl1 camaro and just love the look of it. Anyone know of such a thing for our s197s. Thanks

You could also get something like this and add the heat extractors (link below)

and then add these to it http://www.americanmuscle.com/painte...vent-0509.html

hope it helps

You think that water from washing it out getting rained on with the heat extractors in the center of the hood would cause a problem?

As long as it doesn't dump water on an open air filter or cold air intake or electronics you should be fine. But chances are with extractors that big you might be asking for trouble.

I have a hood with extractors and I got water in the spark plug wells. It was my fault for not checking it, but I had some problems on my next spark plug change.

Yeah that is something to think about. Just love the look though. Lukly ford changed the head design on the 2008 up s197s. And pictures of your car with the hood?

I think I've got a few choices for you.

The First ones that come to mind are the Saleen and Shelby cs8 hoods. However I think they might have become a little hard to find.

Another choice out there is one that imitates the style of the reverse scoop form the 03-04 hoods. I think it is available from a couple of manufacturers (cervinis and one of the carbon fiber hood manufacturers).

Another option is adding extractors to your current hood. I believe someone linked one set above similar to the 13-14 GT hoods. The other one I have seen is people adding the extractor from the last gen gt500s.

Tried to add pics, but the app isn't letting me right now. Will add later if it lets me.

The last gen gt500 vent cut into an 05-09 hood.

I think i will probably just go with a 2.5" cowl and add the extractors. I like the tiger racing hood alot but worried about the water just drenching my engine and cai.
