HID's causing delays in '08 mustang order

ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!

Ordered an '08 Alloy Mustang GT on 6/20/2007. Hasn't been serialized... but is "on hold" until the last week of July/early August because of "HID availability."

About how long does it take from serialization to "in my hands"? I think AFBLUE mentioned it somewhere, but I couldn't find it with search.

What's the status for you other '08-ers?

Really? I was thinking of adding HID's to my 08 order too!

The factory is closed right now untill the 12th. Maybe that is the cause of the delay?

More likely the HIDs are shorted, aka on commodity control. I know that was the case with the NAV systems for '08 (not sure if they sorted that out yet or not).

Just try to be patient. It'll all work out in the end.

Well, I hope so. It's just that I don't like delays!

I was hoping to get my new 08 GT right before labor day so as to take it on a road trip!

I suppose I can take one later on.....

Looking at the link below, it seems to range between 1-2 months between serial and sold date, so say 6 weeks.

My dealer says I may get a vin# tomorrow on my SGT order. If so, it should arrive in Las Vegas around early to mid September.

If the car in your Avatar is the car you are getting AF, it is going to be HOT! I think that's one of the best looking S197 Stangs yet. That color blue really works with the Shelby GT.

OK, thanks for the support guys!

I'll try to get ahold of my Sales guy at the Dealership and report back......

Well, I got ahold of my sales guy since the guy who puts in the orders is on vacation untill July 17th. So, I don't know if there is a shortage or not on the HID's, or if I can even add them to my order.....

It should look similiar to my avatar (vista blue with silver stripes). The black and white SGTs are nice looking but blue SGT was the one that got me to bite.

Looks like I won't be serialized until next Thursday.

That's OK, I know how patient you are.

It'll be worth the wait.

Well if the dealer loaded the allotment a couple months ago for them and they have the ones they ordered already scheduled, then yes, you may have to wait. They only allow 30% of vehicles to get them. But dealers are getting them with hids now.

Sweet.. knowing my luck I assumed "delayed until the last week of July" actually meant "we'll get back to you the last week of July to tell you that it's delayed even longer." But no. Thank you Ford.

Serialized & scheduled to be produced the week of July 30th.

I wonder if the new HIDs can be fitted to 05-07 Mustangs. I sure wouldn't mind an upgrade. I've been thinking about the xenon HIDs from stangmods.com.
