HID Foglight Coversion Kit Installed
HID Foglight Coversion Kit Installed
I ordered my coversion kit through stangmods, and must say very pleased so far. Slight issue which I'll go on about below.
Here's a before shot(NOT my car just for reference):

AFTER

The difference better than before, but now the headlights seem to be off color and seem to have a tint of yellow. Is this difference due to the stock housing for the fog lights?
Note: I installed 4300K HID Foglight Coversion Kit from Stangmods

Sorry, forgot to mention that, Yes they are the OEM HID headllights. As far as lower color temps available there was a 3000K bulb for the fogs, but after readin some posts, figured 4300K was the best match.
I believe the OEM HIDs are likely the same as the Saleens, which I think are 4100K. I am having the same problem, finding bulbs to match my Saleens...
I think another option for you is to get new bulbs for the OEM headlights that would be a match to your fogs. I'm considering doing this, and opting for a 5000K or 6000K kit which is a bit bluer, but easier to match with HID or HID-look foglight bulbs.
Hope that makes sense.

If I were to replace the bulbs with a H13 4300K light bulb in the stock housing would that match up with the H10 4300K foglights? Also is there any problems just replacing the stock bulbs with new ones in the OEM housing?
OR
Do the color temps for the headlights have to be higher to match up? In person the foglights look white with no hint of blue, I'm looking to get the same color temp for the headlights.

What does it look like immediately after you turn on your fog lights? Does it flash brightly for a split second light the OEM HIDs? Are you able to flash them on and off like you would with halogens?
Sorta confused by your second question, but if you mean do the fogs turn off when turning on High Beams, then yes the foglights do turn on and off.
I like to drive with my fogs on.. and I flash my high-beams to signal at people often. So my fogs would be blinking in and out alot, which probably would add alot of wear to the bulbs if they were HIDs... but yours looks good and I think I still want it. If you don't mind my asking, how much did the kit cost? And how much do replacement bulbs cost?
This is where I got it: http://www.stangmods.com/Mustang-HID...it-p/00665.htm
Price: $200
Replacement Bulbs: Roughly $70-120

If I were to replace the OEM blubs in the headlights with 4300K HID bulbs, would the color temp match up with the foglights?
If so, anyone know any good places to pickup some new 4300K HID bulbs for the headlights?

I've purchased from Xenon Factory before - they were nice and the bulbs have been fine (used in my motorcycle).

OK. So what is the deal with the "dealer only" replacement?
Are they engineered to be "dealer only". If so, it is that kind of thing that makes me want to stay away from chevrolet and a lot of the european manufacturers.
