I ordered on Monday. For what it's worth, my dealer said there was no longer a problem with IUP. Note also that my car has not been ordered by them yet so we shall see.

IUP will never be offered again....no Mustangs will ever have the Interior Upgrade Package again....not this year, not ever.....this is official...from this point out all Mustangs will only come with non-IUP interiors....nevermore...

I just ordered one and the screen said 18G unavailable on all bodies. That being said, it did give me pricing with it and it wasn't last week. Really can't give you an accurate answer to at least next week when scheduling resumes.

That would be my guess too, Paul..... January 3rd should enlighten things a bit, or maybe another Dark Cloud.

You're a poopoo head.

I ordered on the 28th.
Got DORA.
18G not available on all bodies: recommend 18R :bang:

The SM is going to talk to the regional rep tomorrow.

Soooooo, it appears that the IUP questions are far from cleared up at this point; but yes the week of January 3 should bring a wealth of information (good or bad)...

Karpro, please keep us posted. Thanks.

Well, I completed my part of the process to include the deposit but I know that the order has not been dropped into the system, no DORA yet. Hey don't bust my chops, I got excited!

My apologies Drew....I wasn't trying to bust the chops, just trying to keep it in perspective with all the rumors floating around. B) Keep your fingers crossed, but don't overload with the stock you put into it until Jan. 3rd......if they start pumping out IUP's on the cars, then you should be 'Good To Go' (as they say in the South).

I debated about whether to post this info or not, but here goes....

I got a call from the sales manager of a local Ford dealership yesterday about an email I'd sent to Ford Customer Service a couple of weeks ago inquiring about my order, which includes the IUP, and exactly why it's on hold. Somehow my inquiry got routed to a different dealership than the one I actually placed my order with. (Don't ask me how or why; I don't know, and neither does the gentleman who called me - he had an order on file for someone with the same first name and a similar last name; he thought Ford CS just got the last name wrong.) Anyway, after we established the fact that I wasn't his customer he went on to discuss the IUP hold situation anyway. According to him, he talked to someone at Ford recently about this problem (not because of my inquiry, but because he wanted to know why their dealership's orders were on hold) and was told that the "robots" (his word) on the line that install the IUP in GTs were down. He was told that's why there was a hold on the IUP for V6s the last month or so; because those robots went down for a while. They are now fixed; hence Ford is accepting orders for IUP in V6s. He was told that's why Ford blocked all IUP orders on GTs for January, in order to fill production capacity with V6s for that month which will also give them time to make the necessary repairs to the GT line and ramp that back up by February.

He was also very familiar with the lawsuit issue over the MyColor patent, but said no one at Ford mentioned that at all, much less as that being the cause for the delay in GT IUP builds.

Take this info for what it is - just more rumor. Some of it makes sense, some of it doesn't (e.g.; why would they need completely different robots to assemble the IUP components on GTs v. V6s? Aren't the components, and the dashes they go in, the same??) This guy was very knowledgeable about both the Mustang and Ford's order and build process; I really got the impression he'd done some homework on this issue. Still, and I realize it, it's no better info. than "my cousin's best friend's uncle knows a guy who knows a guy who works at the assembly plant..."

The last I read, no IUP through Jan...
Karpro: How many GT's do you have in stock? We have none, and none scheduled or on the way. Are you experiencing similar delays? How big is your dealership?

I wouldn't think that 'Robots' do the interior finish items. This seems to me to be an item that would be assembled by human hands.

If it was true that the robots was causing the IUP problem on the GTs, then my car wouldnt be scheduled in January, and it is. "Locked in for production January 5" "Build week of January 3" (I have a GT with IUP on order, since October 17). So I would think that info is not right...

I think it is those robots from the last Will Smith movie! MyColor is just the next step in their domination plan! Resist them, order 18R!!!

Maybe I am just being paranoid.
