hey guys exhaust question

just wondering about the interior noise that comes with SLP Loudmouths. if someone has them could you give me an idea about the loudness... i guess on a 1 to 10 rating. 1 would be stock and 10 would be headers,no cats, xpipe,no mufflers.

i have an 07 mustang gt, apperance package, black on black, 18 fanblades, 3.55 gears, interior upgrade.

They are loud.

Basically, for the S197 it's a muffler delete with fancy tips.

What's wrong with loud? Haha, I like being able to set off those tuner guy's car alarms, especially at the drags.

Pretty much. think about taking off your mufflers, and then starting the car and driving it around. Yep, sounds almost like that, just as loud but not as raspy.

I think everyone is getting a little carried away. The SLP's are kinda loud on the outside but are pretty low on the inside considering they have NO drone. I have been in an S197 with Borla Stingers and it was much louder, and more difficult to have a convo IMO. With that said, I am selling my SLP's bc they are not loud enough as they are, and with an O/R pipe they are ridiculously loud. I plan on doing the complete exhaust. If I was going to leave it stock, SLP's are the best IMO.

The first thing I noticed when I put the slp's on was vibration through the floor board from the rumble. With the windows up, while cruising (especially on the freeway) they are hardly noticable. But when taking off even with windows up they can drown out the radio, but I don't play mine very loud.

I'd say the equivelent loudness would be like running ac/heater fans on 4. But thats only when getting up to speed.

I'll be happy if I get $215 plus whatever it costs for me to ship them to wherever you are. I'm in NYC. So, if you were to pick them up, $215.
They probably have 2,000 miles on them. Perfect like new condition. Once I take them off, I'll clean them up and ship em out. Let me know if you're interested, I'm going to be ordering some new exhaust goodies which I will hopefully receive this week, and get them installed on Sat. So they will ship that monday or tuesday I'm guessing.

Everyone always gets REALLY carried away with describing how loud the SLP LM's are in person. I had Steeda mufflers on my car (which are made by Borla, and are exactly the same as the FRPP Stingers / GT's), and they were a little too quiet for me. I traded a member here for the LM's, and they are PERFECT. As someone else said, quiet (about the same as the Stingers) when you want them to be, but they sound GREAT when you floor it. Same general tone as the Stingers, but a little "dirtier", with more pops and burbles.

And yes, if you want to, you may set off the occasional car alarm

I've had mine for about 8 months now and I still love them (just the axle-back). There is a bit of drone for me between 1800 and 2200 RPM (seems to be worse in the winter when the exhaust gets fairly cold), but you get used to it after a while.

They are significanly louder than stock, but to me the exhaust note is just right. I found myself to be insanely picky when it came to choosing exhaust, but I felt that SLP sounds better than any others I've heard on the S197's. Nothing like hitting WOT with the windows down

If you are planning on an OR H or X pipe, you'd be wise to consider something else.

After listening to the stock mufflers in a drive by in comparison with the SLP LM's, I'm sticking with the stock mufflers:
