Is this a programmer/flash device or a plug in chip( I'm not sure what all is available for the S197)? I am by no means an expert on tunes and chips but I have a Superchips chip in my Expedition and a SCT programmer for the Mustang and have never experienced anything like you described with either. It sounds like it's a glitch in the script. If it's a programmer I would have them email you a new tune and if it's a Chip, first make sure that its seated properly and the contacts are good and clean. If thats all OK then you may have to send it back to them to have it re-flashed.

Contact superchips for their take on this, i believe their tune is geared towards more top-end RPM gains, which will cost you at the low-end.

as for the error you get on the dash, this is normal.. you get that with any ECU programmer as they start writing to the ECU and erase the learned calibrations momentairly.

if you really want my honest opinion, i think you should have gone with mainstream tuners like the Diablosport Predator or even better, the SCT XCalibrator II.

good luck

If you already got a new script and that didn't help then I would take G.T's advice and call them. Hopefully they have a good tech support department and can trouble shoot it with you. Just out of curiosity when you ordered it did you have to give them the numbers from the sticker on the computer. I know when I ordered my SCT I had to supply the numbers before they could do the script.

The contacts are used for chips, it would not apply here since you said it was a programmer.
