Hi all,
I'm about to order a Torch Red GT Vert (with black cloth top) and have been having a hard time deciding on the red leather (premier trim). In some text I've seen (kbb and ordering guide, I think) it talks about black leather seats with color accents; but a quick look at a partial order jsut shows crimson red so I'm wondering if the seats are unchanged (it does say black floormats though, which I think is a change). The chamois picture I saw did not look like the seats had any black and were solid chaomois.

I'd love it if it looks something similar to the shelby seats; but I'm not 100% on the full red since it isn't a perfect match for the torch red and I thought I read one person implying they turn a bit pink with fading. It m ight be safer to drop the Premier and just go dark charcoal (like my current 2000 performace red gt vert).

Thanks for any help you can offer if you've seen an '07 premier, or if you have experience with the 05/06 red leather.

The only thing that is "pink" on the ICAP is the floor mats...

 

No one knows for sure yet. I have an '07 w/ red interior on order and have been watching several forums closely for photos or info on this. I am assuming the interior will be the same as the ICAP in my '05, from what I have read Ford typically reserves two-tone seat treatment for limited editions. Two tone is in the Shelby and C/S, but probably will not be in the GTs.

 

Thanks for the replies, I just wasn't sure if people who browse multiple forums knew of some pictures coming in over the weekend that might show for sure. It certainly does seem like they will be the same as previous years.

The two-tone looks a lot better though. If only they put the same kinda scheme as is in the RX-8 in..

 

skip the red leather. go with black. i was going to get the red interior in mine, but when i saw it in person i decided o helll no!

 

LOL. Assuming I do order, I think I'll go with the dark charcoal. It's just hard to stomach the price jump from the 25K I paid for my gt vert in 2000, plus I'm not sure if I should instead buy a 2nd more practical vehicle for cargo/passengers and keep the 2000.

 

I thought the same as you about the red leather seats so i ordered Drk Charcoal and couldn't be happier. The car is awesome and it is the best looking car that I have ever owned and I am a past GT owner.

 

Hi Bravestar. I see you got black (looking forward to pictures!) wich was my 2nd choice color, it must look great!

 

I've got an '07 on the way with the dark charcoal premier trim. Should be in this week or early next week. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

I LOVE the crimson red in my '05 V6. I didn't think twice about ordering it in my '07 GT. Personally I do not like the all-black interiors at all, it's boring IMO. But different people have different tastes

 

Thank you for welcoming me to this organization. What a fantastic group of people. I have lurked for a long time before formally joining, not much to add when you don't own one, but I have a lot of things to talk or ask about if it is not too much trouble. On the 07 there is a audio jack in the console, do I need anything special to hook up my daughter's IPod or just a male to male 3.5mm wire from that port to the IPod? Also, the only thing that I miss, it seems silly, coming from our E/B Explorer is the outside temperature display. I would have rather of had that on the inside rear view mirror than the compass that came with the mirror. Is there an economical way to just change out the review mirror with one that has a outside temperature display and is autochromatic just like the factory mirror? Thanks

 

I have a 07 GT vert on order right now; and I'm a big fan of the black / red look.

I was told by my dealer that the red interior and the chamois interior for 2007 means that the entire seats are red or chamois depending on what you choose. Essentially the 2007 red interior is the same as the 2006 red interior. However, if you order Premium Trim in the dove or tan colors, just the seat inserts are dove or tan in color. There have been some pictures of these interiors posted already.

In my case, I ordered the car triple black with Premium Trim. Seperately I working with a vendor and Katzkin on black seats with a red leather center. The seats will be swapped immediately when I get the car, and I post pictures.

It probably sounds like a waste of money and it is, but I want a certain look and I'm going for it. I only wanted the red inserts to begin with

All the two-tone pics posted so far have been of the C/S. I seriously doubt that the regular GT will have two-tone no matter what color is selected, but anything is possible.

There is a electrochromatic mirror available that has homelink, temp, and compass. There is a temp probe that must be installed under the hood and wired up to it, so it isn't a 5 minute swap unfortunately.

 

07s do not have the red interior altogether. They only have the premium trim where you can choose from 3-4 different colours for the inserts, black with red. black with chamois, black with dove and theres one more which i cannot remember. but all red interior, is not an option for the 07 anymore,.

 

Not true, those pictures posted to date are not of the premium trim. They are the CS/GT interiors in "black with dove" and "black with parchment".

As I've said I was told by my dealer that red and chamois interiors on a GT involve the complete seats (front and back) being that color. This is consistent with the non-CS chamois GT interior photo that has been floating around for a while.

Dove and parchment (tan) however on a GT involve the seat inserts being that color and not the full seats.

This supposedly applies to GT's that are not CS models.

Would be great if a Ford guy / salesman jumped in here to verify.

This is the very problem, they don't know either- LOL! Nothing has been distributed to them indicating this yet. The order guide lists the seats for the C/S as being buckets with contrasting GT leather inserts, while the Premier Trim says no such thing. It only says it is available in 5 interior colors. Also as I said previously, Ford has always reserved two-tone Mustang seats for special editions. All this added together would seem to indicate that the Premier Trim is the same interior treatment as ICAP, but now there are multiple color choices instead of just the red.

Actually it says 5 colors, parchment is one and apparently graphite is the 5th color. But there is no info out there that indicates there will be any black on the seats other than on the C/S and Shelby (unless of course you get the all-black seats). We should know very soon as '07's are starting to hit the dealerships though. You might wonder why graphite is an option on the premier trim group which is supposed to be a "color accent" package. Apparently this allows people who want an all black interior to still get the stitched components and upgrade pedals. One of the guys here ordered an '07 with the premium trim option in graphite and it the order did go through the system.
