just want to know if anyone has had trouble when it comes time to fill up......just to tell u whats been happening---car will be empty, stop at the station to fill up---the pump kicks off at 8 gallons.????? i have a friend tell me today his is doing the same thing. it doesn't happen every fill up just at times

Melissa,
You are not alone - about one of ten I've delivered has had the same problem. Just contact your dealer,it's all under warranty & I'm sure they'll take good care of you.

(only I'd tell them that it happens EVERY time, that way they can't try to blame it on the service station pump)

This is an old problem from '05 that was supposed to be taken care of with a redesign of the gas tank. All '06's should have the new design. I have had no problems with mine.

I have an 06
First fill up was an overflow...pump never shut off...
Second fill was OK
Third fill was a shut off every two seconds, I had to pump the gas slowly..pressing only half way on the pump lever...
i use the same gass station for all three of my cars and most of the time the same pump, and the problem has only been with my mustang.
But then again , I have only put gas in it 3 times will keep an eye on it

They most likely are recycling the RMA'd tanks from the 05's by installing them on the 06's and hoping the owners don't complain

I have an 06 and have the infamous gas fill up problem.mines at ford right now getting a new tank.Let you know how it goes
P.s. how come the girls get away with out doing a search??
