Hello! new here. been lurking ever since I ordered my GT on jan 22 2005. I know the wait hasnt been as long as some of you guys but it sure is agonizing! Hopefully I'll have a VIN number by next week. I ordered at the largest ford dealer in the country, Galpin Ford here in southern california so hopefully they have some kinda pull and get it to me fassssssssst! Mineral Grey, IUP, red leather, shaker 500, silver racing stripes, automatic transmission. I've already ordered custom plates reading "05remix" and plan on also adding the roush 1/4 rear window louvers. My god i get happy just talking about it!

What should i do with my taurus? It'll be hard to let her go. Time to give her up though. bluebook is about 6500 if i remember correctly. Upgrades are 2 tone paint, dual exhausts, K&N air filter, 600 watt sound system, 18 inch enkei MM2 wheels, Z rated tires, tinted windows, alarm. By the time my stang is here i figure the T will be at about 56k+ miles. Only glitch is that last year I blew the transmission. Luckily it was still under warranty and ford just put in a new rebuilt one with a 100k mile warranty for the tranny on top of my 60k mile warranty. I dunno how this effects the price but your suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks! oh, 2000 ses BTW.

Believe me, Tauri do not have a good resale/trade in value. It turned out to be a blessing for me. Thankfully I just got a few burns from the airbag going off. If the deer happened to go through the windsheild, my head may have gone of too. I was pretty lucky. I was only going to get 4K for a trade (94K miles) but the inurance company came through with about twice that. :headbang:

While we are talking trades. I owned a 2001 Taurus SEL (for the wife) with everything. It had 67K when traded in on a new Exploder. We got 7100 for it. To be honest, I don't think your mods (while tastefully done) will not help you much as it is still a taurus. Too many rental Taurus out there flooding the used car market. Sorry.

Just look at it this way...the longer you wait, the more bugs that are going to be worked out....like the shaker issue, strut bearings....

After checking around on insurance rates, I found it would be cheaper for me to keep my current ride. Insurance is cheaper with two vehicles which kind of surprised me, but when you think about it, you aren't driving the mustang as much if you have two cars. It actually will come in handy in sloppy winter weather and when going shopping (nasty parking lots). I wouldn't sell my old beater to anyone anyway, it's got a lot of little quirks, but still treats me nice.

You can't keep both? Just so you could drive the Taurus on really pooty weather days? I like your Taurus, nice looking to me.

I'd definitley look at selling it privately, as mentioned before, it is a buyers market on the Taurus, so you will be hard-pressed to get a good price for it either way.

If I were you, i'd sell the wheels/tires seperate to recover some costs.

Nice choice on the stang. It's hard to tell from that close up pic but, were your going for a Monte Carlo look with you Taurus?
I agree with those saying keep it for an everyday car. I know that I will not get as much as I want for my 99 Ranger so, I'm keeping it. Now my stang will never have to sit in a parking lot. She's no grocery getter.

Dont expect to get $6500 for your taurus, about $5000 is a little more realistic if that. Aftermarket stuff, especially on a taurus, actually HURTS the value!!

Congrats on the mustang though.
