I'm not sure if it is just me but it seems like my heater on my 05 GT does not put out that much heat. My 01 ranger puts out more heat with the temp **** in the center than my Mustang does on full hot. The temp gauge reads normal so I don't think that the issue. For all those who live in the northern climate, has anyone else noticed this?

I'm up here in Everett, Washington. It is cold and rainy, and yet the heater system works flawlessly and very amply in my V6. I would have the dealer check yours out for you. Something doesn't sound right.

I'm not that thrilled with mine either. On cold days when I have it on the hottest setting, I'm toasty warm. As soon as I back off "hot" to blend in some cooler air, it gets cold quickly. It's just not easy to find the right mix. Then again I'm used to the automatic climate control and heated seats in my '04 F-150 and may have become a bit lazy and spoiled.

It's in the 20's at night south of Nashville, TN and my car will run you out of the car if you crank it up. Works very well.

Mine also provides very hot temps, but the amount routed to the floor seems to be less than it should.
I have checked with engineering and there are no known issues, go figure.

I find the big V8 takes a bit longer to get up to temp than my 4-cylinder cars.

When it does get up to temp, it works great

Same here... My 4 cylinder S10 puts out heat within a few blocks from home - the Mustang takes a few miles.. Almost like the thermostat is stuck open.

But - I have now parked my GT for the winter so it's not a big deal to me.. I sure do miss driving it though...

I know what you mean. It is so irritaing. I can have the upper half of the car on fire, but my feet are still cold.

Too much heat comes out the top of the dash when you want it on your feet. I complained about this to my dealer last year and they said it was normal.

Like Galaxie said, takes a little longer for the GT to get the temp up than my 4-banger Ranger.

But once it does, the GT heater works great. I can put the top down at night, and still keep the legs and lower body toasty warm.

Ya, unfortunately they designed the system this way to help prevent the windows from fogging up. I wish FORD had left that idea up to the customer. I never understood why when I choose the floor setting heat still comes out of the defroster vent on the dash. Good idea, poorly executed.

Heater works fine for me. I have driven it in temperatures as low as -30 degrees. Aside from the heater I also had my dealer install front seat heaters which work great (and are quite therapeutic to the lower back on long drives, even in warm weather).

I have the opposite problem. Heater will smoke ya but the vents in summertime usually put out much warmer air than the temperature outside.

Rupert, good to see someones had the install done. Was that an aftermarket heated seat product? Brand name? Where did they mount the seat switches? I'd like to have heated seats installed as well. I'll have to see who does them here in Winnipeg.

I agree with the limited amount of heat on the floor. It seems that it's colder by the trans tunnel....

Someone on here (TMS) last winter, said they went to the dealer and complained about too much air coming out the windshield. The dealer had a "fix" for it and now the air comes out of the floor only. You might do a search to see if you can find it. I don't mind it so much on mine until it starts getting real toasty on your face, then I hate it!
