heated seat install

Well I'm no expert, but if you live in a cold area, and your car is a DD, then i'd highly recomend installing heated seats. The kit was $180.00 for both seats. the scarriest part was not blowing the side air bag's. Other than that, the leather is attached with a few hog rings, plastic clips, and velcro. The first seat took about 2 hours, the other one took about an hour. I did find out, that either I did not have a #2 pencil, or something, but I scratched the hell out of my center console with a pencil after trying to make a grid to mount the heated switch's.

I was amazed that I only found one dime, and one french fry under the seat's.

Any questions, just ask,

Tim

I just did mine this past week too.

I went with the Check Corp kit, which is custom fit for the 05+ Mustang. Costs more than the eBay type generic kits, but the heating pads exactly fit the seat bottom and lower portion of the seat back, including openings in the pads for the listing wire grooves.

Heated seats can seem kind of frivolous, but when you have to park your butt on an icy leather seat on a 15 degree morning, all of a sudden they seem pretty practical

I got the kit from this place:

I got the innovative 2 kit, and I did not have to cut anything, both pads fit well on the seat's. Fact even on the high setting, for me, its too warm, Low works just fine.

Nice job Tim! Even though mine is not a DD, this is great to have with the top dropped on cooler days

Which shift boot and trim ring do you have??

ummmm I know that the shift boot trim piece is not a SHR one, my wife got it for me, and for the shift boot, I believe its a redline one. Its from italy I believe, again, my wife got that for me, along with the green thread to match the car color. Let the coffee kick in, so I can access my long term memory. maybe I can remember where I got the shift boot cover. I think its a scott drake one, its just a thin piece of metal that covers the stock plastic one.

heres the shift boot: http://www.redlinegoods.com/productsFord.shtm

The hot side of the wipers, that was about the only one that had acc power on, and that would still allow the SJB lid to close

Baxter, Gotta love your avitar!!! I keep *****in at the wife when we get into her escape cuz she didnt get/ doesnt want to spend the money on heated seats!!!! Got cloth (for now) in the Stang but still want heated seats. Im also looking for the stock seat heater buttons in the climate control pod. I cant believe they would be that hard to wire up.. Or Id put the buttons on either side of the front cup holder.

None the less, thanks for the info!!
