I talked to the dealer principal last night he is going to fix my car and did'nt know why his service manager and Ford have told me this. He was really nice and I actually trust him. Maybe these issues will be resolved w/o any other conflict. Billy Cain is a class act and I take back saying previously I would'nt recommend anyone going to his dealership. All In should have done first was go to him!! So please don't have misconceptions about his dealerships like me.

If his service manager is treating customers the way you were treated, then it's not a misconception.

Glad your getting this straightened out!

Will that bulb just pop right in? Or will it take a slight tweak to make it fit? If it fits easily I'll go that route instead of arguing with the service department that the switch is supposed to be lit.

Excellent! Thanks for your research. I'd rather fix things on my car myself if I possibly can anyway.

I am having the same problem. I noticed the switch not lighting up the other day, so I gave it a tap and it light up. Today i had the same problem gave it a tap and it light up. However now it has stopped working completly so I will call the dealership this morning, since I also have some other minor warranty issues. Flyuid leaking from master cylinder and loose driver side interior panel. Car has only 6500 miles

The other question is: can a similar generic bulb be put there, or just the one from ford? How easy does that headlight switch assembly come out?

I pulled mine out this morning. Pry the top out from the dash and pull straight out. The bulb is a burned out on mine too. I'm going to install an LED in its place.

That 13b765 bulb won't fit at all. It's about the right size, but it won't lock into place. I even tried a small screwdriver and it won't lock down. Both my Mustangs are 2006's and still under warranty, so I just ordered switches today for both of them and I'll pop them in myself since it is a pretty simple operation.

Wow, really?
The only thing that has lit up on mine was the fog lamp indicator since day 1.
I always thought it was a crappy design. I would find myself sometimes using my hand on the switch to make sure my headlights were on.
This will be added to my list when she goes in for her 1st, and only time I hope.

Is that a sun-shade in your avatar or a photochop/cartoon? If it's a sun-shade, can you please let me know where you bought that? I "need" it. Really badly.

Let us know what you use as far as LED part numbers and where you got it from. I'm sure several of us would like to do this simple fix if the LED's are cheap and easy to obtain.

I've got to pull my switch out and see what voltage is going to the bulb since I plan to switch to a blue LED to go along with the LED mod in my signature. A through hole LED with a resistor should fit in the original housing.

My headlight switch icons light up, but I always use the Speedo/tach lighting to tell if the headlights are on. When Speedo/tach numbers are white, the headlights are off; when they're any other color = headlights on. Do the non-MyColor gauges light up a different color when the lights are on or are they always white?
