Thumbs up

Has anybody ordered a GT without the IUP upgrade yet? I know it's been a topic recent discussion topic and most members like the IUP package, but I'm not too crazy about the aluminum dash panel. I'm thinking about ordering a black premium auto GT this week with charcoal interior and the security system option. I just have to make a decision on the dash.

Keep in mind that the IUP package is not just the aluminum dash. It also provides you with two extra gauges, the MyColor feature, Message Center, different steering wheel, scuff plates, etc.

Also keep in mind that if you want side airbags you have to get the IUP.

Quick, seek medical attention immediately, lol... you don't want the IUP, you NEED the IUP. Have you seen the interior without it? Here's a handy chart I thought up for ya'

IUP = BMW looks, No IUP = Ford looks

I think that's all I have to say about that

Well to each his/her own. While I personally ordered the IUP, lodom can certainly have whichever he wants.

I just wanted to make sure he had all the info before making the final decision.

That's the thing, Iodom want US to help, so we can't just leave the choice so open on this issue. If you don't get IUP, you will regret it, that's all. Sounds blunt, but look at all the IUP features... it's worth whatever they charge for it.

I think it doesn't look too bad without the IUP in certain conditions - for example with a tan interior. What I definitely don't like, though, is the steering wheel w/o the IUP... it's just plain plastic, no leather, and that stinks if you ask me... but you're right, he might later regret it because of all the goodies... the chrome MUSTANG plate, message center etc. I wouldn't count MyColor, you'll be playing around with it for the first three days, and then never again.

Wombert your right about playing with the My Color for only a few days I'm thinking 10 but then I'll have the color I want thats the ONLY reason I'm getting the IUP I loathe chrome silver stainless etc.

Personally I ordered the Screaming Yellow GT with dark charcoal interior without the IUP and don't plan on regretting it!

Very smart :usa:

To refresh everyone's memory, here's a comparo of with and without IUP -- there is no contest (I guess it comes down to your affordability of the package upgrade, whice many of us have guessed what, around $750-900?)

I ordered the IUP, but I think it looks perfectly fine without it too. *shrug* then again, I'd prolly be ok with bean bag seats too...

lol. I'd get it w/o IUP only on dark charcoal. On the lighter colors it looks cheaper. I really want it though.

I'm going to get the IUP. I've always prefered 6 gauges over idiot lights. the My Color is a neat toy. And that brushed aluminum puts on that finishing touch.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm was aware of the loss of 2 guages, and the inability to change the color of the instrumentation lights, but those are only the reasons I'd want the IUP. I just wish these features were standard equipment and the stainless finish was an option like it was in '04. It's just a matter of weighing the advantages of these extra features against the more muted look which I like, which is why I posted. I just want to make the right decision, and I'm probably going to go with my first impressions and order this afternoon without the IUP.

At least I won't be alone without the option since Nichole didn't order it either.

W/O IUP =

Of course to each their own... But I love the aluminum touches along with the MyColor, Message, Center, and extra gauges (just say no to idiot lights!). IMO the steering wheel looks bad and the auto-stick looks like it was cut out of a plastic block.

But hey... I'll shell out the $900 or so to get it, for some people it isn't worth it. B)

I like the interior conservative look especially since I have a screaming yellow exterior...plus, I like to be different!
