had a question about my 05 GT Mustang
i was wondering where the hell the truck open switch is? my friends 03 v6 mustang has it in the glove box but i cant find mine for nothing..well please let me know thanks later
Ford didn't make one for the new S197s. (still can't figure that one out)
You just have to use the button on your key fob or use your key, of course you could always climb into the trunk from the backseat and open it with the pull handle.

There is a thread that discusses this and includes instructions on how to add your own. I personnally just got another key fob and keep it in the center console.
I find using the button on the key fob is more convenient then having it in the glove box. I don't have to reach over, open the glove box, push the trunk open button, pick up all the maps, receipts, etc that fall out of the glove box, shove them back in and close glove box. I just push the button on the key fob!
there are actually 2 pull tabs... one next to the shoulder rest on the back seat, and then one in the trunk that glows in the dark.... it's got a picture of an illegal alien runing away... you can't miss it.

I believe the top one is the Ford part number.
I don't understand why anybody would want a trunk release when your inside the car. If you have your keys with you than you have a trunk release button with you. I'd much rather reach for my key fob which if I'm in the car is usually hanging right off my key than to reach over the huge center console these things have to push that button. If anyone can give me a better reason other than you locked your key in the trunk I'll shut up. If that's your main concern keep your key, and key fob seperate. Or just don't put your keys in the trunk.
yeah... that was almost a deal breaker for me.... I saw how cool the Jetta's keys were, and thought to myself.... "that's way cooler than 300 hp for $24K..."
it took me a while before I finally decided to go with the Mustang.
Which reminds me...with winter fast approaching, did we ever decide the issue of driving gloves?

Otherwise, it would obviously be easier to just use the fob you have. I also have an extra fob on a shelf near the trunk of the car when it is stored so that I can open it when I load stuff up without chasing down the keys

I just don't like carrying my keys around, especially when working on my car.
It'd be much more convenient to have a trunk release button (like right by the light switch panel).
An inside trunk release does come in handy when you have the option. My "other car" (bmw) has it....i use the inside release as much as using the fob from outside the car...both are good. Haven't yet used the actual key to open the trunk on either car!
