While driving through a small nearby town last Saturday, I saw a Torch Red GT sitting in a driveway. I noticed a guy sitting on the porch, so I turned around to check it out. We were looking it over and he mentioned how great the exhaust sounds. I told him I test drove one last November, and have one on order. Since that was the last time I heard one, I asked him to fire it up. He sheepishly said, "well, I can't. It's my wife's car and she's not home. She took both sets of keys with her!" I was cracking up big time!!
Is this common for women owners? Do you ladies trust you husbands/boyfriends with the keys?

Me being me...if it was my wife's car, she probably wouldn't want me to drive it either.

Maybe so, but would she take both sets of keys with her??
There's not a chance in H my boyfriend will drive my car! :nono: I love him for many reasons, but his driving is unfortunately not one of them.
A vehicle for him is strictly to get from point A to point B, and the driving experience is meaningless to him, so, umm, NOOOOO!

I wonder what else she takes with her when she leaves home?

A little too possessive for my tastes

Maybe she has the keys to his car as well as the keys to the chain that keeps him on the porch.

My husband drives my current car, but when I get my Mustang next year I may let him take it for a little test drive like when I got my 98'. I got the car as a Standard five speed. I had never driven a stick, so he drove it home. Next morning we went to the park for me to learn how to drive it. He never drove it after that. I had the car for two years.
Anytime we go anywhere I do the driving. His driving drives me crazy. I am not a good passenger.
Mechanically I never let him touch my cars. If possible I do it myself be it air filters, oil changes, fluids stuff like that.

My husband has his keys to my Mustang and I have no problem with that. Whenever we go somewhere I always let him drive. What worries me is the few times he takes her out by himself......He has wrecked all four vehicles I have ever owned, three of them at least twice!
He almost lost all Mustang privliges the first night I brought the car home: ran over a bale of hay, turned it sideways while trying to "see what she'll do", narrowly missed a mailbox before nearly ending up in the ditch literally within the first 3 minutes of driving the car.
But, the "new" is wearing off for him and he has regained his senses while behind the wheel.

Thats classic! We both share keys to all the vehicles. I would never tell my husband what he could or couldn't drive, especially since he pays for everything. Him=good job, Me=slacker B)
