Nice. But for some reason, even after seeing two (one coupe, one vert with no stripes) and starting one and playing with it for a while last night.

I like them, but it is not like. "OMG, it is soooo much nicer than my car, I have to buy one NOW"

If I could get one for list I think I would strongly consider trading up, but for what they are asking, and considering the weight of the car, mixed review from most honest magazines, talking with a couple slightly dissapointed owners, and the few cosmetic things I am not crazy about, I am still sorta on the fence.

Put it this way, when I saw the GT and drove it, I knew immediatly I had to have one. Now having the GT, and still loving the heck out of it. It is hard to get turned onto the gt500 considering the cost and BS the dealers are pulling.

Barrett,

Jim just sent these via email. Car looks great. So you thing you could just smuggle the supercharger off there for me without anyone noticing....................Cash on the side man. Then you could blame one of the sales guys or something. I hope it lasts long enough for me to come by and look at it.

I offered my GM D-plan yesterday and was shot down in a blaze of glory I agree that it isn't perfect, but after seeing one in person for more than 5 minutes, it is a car worth owning.

BTW, it's not the dealers pulling the bs, it's the people paying too much for the cars.

Screw that. I bet we can swap the 5.4 for a 4.6 in 8 hours on a sunday. Anyone have an empty black whipple housing to throw on top for good measure????

True in some, but not all cases. Not when a dealer local to me got one in 3 months ago, put a price of 70K on it in the showroom, and it has been collecting dust. People have made offers on the car, including myself, and have been shot down and told "nope, we want 70K" and it has not moved. My friend offered 60 for it before christmas and was shot down (he since decided on a ZO6). I guess the dealer either wants the foot traffic or is greedy. Or the GM wants it for himself unless he can sell it for 27 over??

Mind you, this same dealer chain has had a ZO6 for 10K over for 3.5-4 months and will not budge on that one either.

Obviously some dealers are a little more than others, but it starts with people actually PAYING prices like that in the first place, even if it is for a "low # car". At some point we have to accept SOME offer.

70K for a GT500? I'd much rather spend a couple thousand more and have a Z06

We just sold our 4th(a black vert with no stripes). Sitting 10' from them all day I really don't get all that excited about them. Personally I think the best thing to come from the Shelby's is adding more ways to mod GT's

Most observers on the street think it is a "sleeper" until they see the front end and wonder where you went upon hitting 3rd. GT500s tend to be preceived like a GT from the side and the back.

PACETTR;- nice GT500
