GT500 from the Chicago auto show
I went to the autoshow last night and put the photos I took online in the mustang gallery here Galleries
The lighting in most of the show was alot so I didn't use a flash but around the cobra it was kinda dim so they are a little dark, but still good. Also took photos of the camaro and challenger etc that I have posted there.

Thanks for the pics. I'm definitely going to have to check out the show out this year.

yep, there were only a couple other people around it when I was looking at it. Non-mustang people might have just thought it was another new mustang. Although I would say Ford in general was kinda dead that night

The "SHELBY" lettering way off to one side of the decklid looks like swill. Is that how they're doing the production cars???

Yes, the letters will be on the left.
I was there last night also. I liked the color combo of the GT500, but not too many people looking at it. My biggest peeve is that none of the salesmen had the trunk key to any of the convertibles. I really wanted to see the truck space with the top down. Then when I asked about the new Alloy Grey, he said, "yes, we had the new color for '06, it's called tungsten." They didn't have a clue.

Vote for the Shelby GT500 here for best in Show at the Chicago Auto Show: http://www.vibes.com/drivechicago/index.asp
I saw the Shelby at Philly and I stood there in awe of the car. There isn't anything I'd change. It is just flat awesome. The biggest problem I'd have with owning that car is that the only places I'd drive it would be to shows and just cruising on nice sunny days. I wouldn't leave that thing sitting ANYWHERE but either in my driveway or in the garage.

As stupid as it sounds, that's why I bought a GT. I drive my GT pretty much everywhere. If I had waited and bought a GT500, I would be afraid to take it out of the garage.

I already don't drive mine unless it is a precip clear day with no chance of change. I want the car to look in 5 years as it does today. The only way to do that is to keep it out of the weather and away from parking lots.

I was at the show on Feb. 14 and took some pictures. I'll post them here when I get the film developed. I'm hoping to go back on Friday with the digital camera.

Why? It's a Shelby, not an Enzo...

I would. I'd bag the wheels off of it. What are you going to do, take it with you?
I might even buy one next year.

Went to the show as well. Camaro seemed to garner the most attention , but there was always a crowd around the Shelby. I still like the look of the regular Mustang GT better. For some reason, I can't get the image of a three year old Mustang II Cobra II with cracked hood stripes out of my head when I look at the new Shelby. (We had one in our neighborhood when I was growing up)
The Challenger was another popular place to be as well. Dodge by far had the best display. They had a go cart track setup to let you drive full size cars around, including SRT8 Chargers and Magunums. (WOW)
I really liked the chromed engine cutaways at the Ford display.

The rest of my Auto Show Pictures are posted in the Gallery.
