GT wet noodle logo on rail roads and bridges
I've always been curious as to why the "GT" logo was plastered on certain rail bridges and rail cars/locomotives around MI. I noticed that the logo is pretty much the same as the "GT" logo used on the S-197 GTs.
This confirms it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_T...estern_Railway
I'm surprised that Ford has not filed a lawsuit or something similar. They've gone after Ford parts dealers using "Ford" in the name (Ford Parts Network -> Fast Parts Network).

I think the "GT" moniker is public domain, consider how many other car companies use it.
As for the logo... You could almost say Grand Trunk could sue Ford considering how similar the two logos are. I've seen them for as long as I can remember

Modern as that logo looks, it actually predates the 1964 introduction of the Mustang. Ironically, that locomotive is a General Motors product, with a 2000 horsepower V-16. 645 c.i. PER CYLINDER.
Also, Ford is tied to this company in several ways. GTW runs a major yard in Flat Rock, and they also purchased the Detroit, Toledo & Ironton RR, which some may recall was once owned by Ford.
