THE FANBLADES ARE STILL SILVER!!!! I just got the 2008 brochure at work, and the picture of the blades are the same as 2006 and 2007. Ford didn't do anything wrong here! That dealer had that car's wheels painted!!!

 

Really not sure how those can be considered rice. I don't love the wheels or anything, but I wouldn't even think about calling them rice. Just because something doesn't look good, doesn't mean it's rice.

By the way, that dealer badge is just hideous.

 

Well the 08 blades have a new part number 8R3Z-1007-A The silver ones had a part number 6R3Z-1007-AA.

 

Check the link to Auto Blog posted by Falchion. These are indeed new rims and not just dealer modified.

 

The number 8 in the part number above, is for the year. Just to let you know.

 

Yeah, I thought they were custom painted myself at first. But every pic I saw of the 08 GT's with the fan blades had them with the dark grey inserts. So, it does look like they have changed the finish on them.

But, in the latest pic that I found of them, they look more grey then black. Might be kind of a cool contrast, I'm just not sure how that will look with Candy Apple red? What do you guys think?

Most of the 4-bangers and such in my area paint their hubcaps and rims. I associate "tastefull" painting of rims as rice.

 

Well, speaking for myself, I think the gray inserts on the fanblades will not only ruin the look of the Candy Apple red, but also make the Mustang seem rather effeminate...likely lead to a rise in interest rates...and start a new Cold War with Russia.

But that's just my opinion.

 

Wrong! Don't believe what you see in the brochure. The 2007 brochure didn't have the light silver painted 17" bullitts wheels either. They were still painted argent like the 2005 and 2006 OEM wheels.

 

Yeah, I think you're right. It looks like Ford changed the color on the fan blades........

 

I kinda like 'em (and that's what I ordered on my 08 GT). Of course, I also had a teriyaki bowl for lunch, so . . .

 

I'm growing to like them too.......

Do you work for a Ford dealer? Didn't think so. I'm just going off of what Ford has sent to me thats all. The order guide DOES NOT state they are different. They still say Premium wheel. If they were different, they would (or should have) stated it, in the beginning of the order guide, where it says 2008 changes. This is the page where all the new options, packages, colors and such are listed. Usually the 1st or 2nd page. They didn't say anything in the guide. Personally, they should annouce this instead of people finding out about it on the web. I say this, as just imagine someone who ordered a 2008, and really wanted the 2006-07 fanblades, and they get these, and are Pi$$ed, it isn't the salesperson's fault, if Ford doesn't tell us the changes and shows pictures for us. Its not right at all. They should tell us this from the start!!!

I have my Sales guy checking into this right now. I'll post back as soon as I heard something.

All the pics of the 08's with fan blade wheels so far have been of the Black/Grey version which looks to be new for 08. Not good!

you can always trade the 08 painted ones for silver ones.
some people like the painted ones better.

 

Yeah, I just found out that you can get the silver fan blades from tirerack.com. So, I can get them after market, maybe from Discount tire center. That's what I did on the wheels/tires that came with my 05 V6. That worked pretty well.

So, that's what I'll do. I just called my sales guy and told him to take the fan blades off of my order. Instead, I'm getting the HID's and later on I'll worry about wheels.......

 

I have a brand new set of take-off fanblades that I'd sell. 50 miles on the tires...

Be carefull because it seems there are two different fan blades out there not incl. the new darker grey that is.
