When the GT-R first debuted Ford said that it would probably never make it to production but the parts (body panels, hood, engine etc) would most likely be available as aftermarket parts from Ford. Is this true??? Is there any new info???

I wouldn't mind seeing a version of the wheels (in Black Chrome) for the SN-95's. They would look sweet on a Mach . . .

I don't really think anyone has the slightest clue, but I do believe there may be some influence from that car on future models, what ever they may be.

I think the SEMA show in November is going to answer a lot of questions, or at least make things very intresting as far as aftermarket parts go.

Last year there were modified F-150's all over the place and they hadn't even been released yet, so I believe the same thing will happen here. There are probably at least 15 or 20 aftermarket companies that have an 05' in their possesion at this moment that are puting their own touches on the car that they will be bringing to SEMA to debut.

It's a big freak'in waiting game, and it's starting to wear a little thin.......

It's been said a million times, we just don't know for sure, we will just have to wait and see............

I already read that Ford would offer the parts through their own aftermarket. I think it said that the car with all the extra parts costs around 50K.

Fast351, you are so right! I expect to see influence from both the Mustang GT Concept car and GT-R in future Mustangs. Why? Because thats what Ford has done in the past!!
You know we are going to see "Shelby-like" tail lights sooner or later on the Stang!! I am guessing on the new Cobra. Might also see the fog lights back in the bumper area?!

Didn't Ford say the FR500 parts would be available through FRPP? All we got were the wheels, and they were slightly different.

I am sure some of the GTR parts will be available in catalogs.. just a matter of time.

The car could also be a teaser to a future special edition... that front clip has a slight resemblence to the 1970 Boss 302

In the latest Automotive Engineering mag from SAE they have an article on the GTR. It says that Ford will most likely offer these parts aftermarket and that they are being evaluated. Sorry no scanner. Let Ford know you want them.

I want that whole gtr front end! Well maybe with the exception of the headlamp assembly. If I was going to change that I wouldn't mind the concept style or just staying stock. Love those round headlights

I'm not sure? I didn't really take much interest in that concept when it came out so it didn't come to mind. You may be right though. What other unique parts were on that car that could have been sold?

The Gt-R front clip with round fogs will probably influence, or vice versa, the Cobra.

I bet they will make headlight covers that mimic those headlight assembly you guys want. That would be a cheap way of getting that look.

Yes and no. It has taken a while and they are not the same name. But the heads have been available for about a year and a half. And I believe the new camshaft package is the same as well. The intake is not the dual inlet type. But I believe it is pretty close as well.

The aftermarket will be all over this if the demand is there and I believe this new car will be the crown jewel of parts offered aftermarket,The car has so much potential I say the aftermarket companies want the car on the road as bad as we do.
