Just a question. I was in Farmington (suburb south of Minneapolis about 25 miles) MN at the trainstop. Then comes along a Union Pacific train shooting North through town. Lots and lots of boxcars carrying autos. Can't really make out the autos through the sides. However, a couple of the boxcars have a big GT (about 2 x 4 feet) symbol on the outside. Looked identical to the Mustang GT symbol. This wouldn't have anything to do with Mustang GT's being inside the boxcars would it? Seemed kind of odd, but the symbol was identical to the GT emblem. Probably means nothing, but I would like to see a shipment of GT's come to Minneapolis. Nothing up here yet.

I'm curious about this too. Here in Denver Sunday night I saw the same rail cars with the GT on the side.

I actually saw the same thing this weekend on a highway in Alberta, Canada....GT symbol looks almost exactly the same, except it stands for "Grand Trunk"....some sort of company.

Thought I'd fill you in.

It stands for "Grand Trunk" Railroad and this symbol has been used for many, many years on some railroad cars. As you mentioned, it is very similar to the GT insignia which appears on the new Mustang. May be that's where the idea for the insignia came from. Excellent observation.

That is exactly what they are talking about. I have trains running across the street from my house. Those GT symbols are everywhere. Unfortunately I haven't seen any outlines that resemble Mustangs.

Now if I had a GT, that toy in Eddie's picture is another thing I'd have to spend money on to have as a conversation piece for my desk or something.

Back when I was in college, I saw Grand Funk Railroad. I think. At least it was a band...and there were songs involved....

The next thing you know, all Mustang GT's are going to be on hold while Ford works out the lawsuit for trademark infringement of the Grand Trunk company.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. I live downtown Mpls and own an 05 Mustang GT. Granted I've only seen one other one driving around but there are plenty on the lots. I think some people are buying them and waiting til spring. Not me, I drive it everyday.

Hey puffyafros,
Thanks for the follow up. No dealerships south of the river have any GTs. Plenty v6. I've been checking for the last 12 weeks, and they haven't had any. A few dealerships north of twin cities have a few. One dealership over in Brooklyn Park had about six GT's. They told me they traded F250s and 350s with small town dealerships around the state to get that many. How long have you had yours? Did you order it or buy of lot? Any pics?

I didn't realize that. The one dealership I was thinking of was the Brooklyn Park one. I knew they were making some trades. I didn't realize all the other lots were just V6s. Anyway, I ordered mine early October and it came in on Xmas eve. Couldn't pick her up until the 27th however. It still was a good Christmas. Here are some pics. I need to take some new ones cuz I just put some polished exhaust tips on. Great addition by the way if you don't plan on changing the exhaust system any time soon. Are you planning on ordering or are you waiting for the right one to appear on a lot?
