Thumbs up

What is up with this?

Please veiw below MSRP rates...

'05 GT Deluxe $24370
Leather Upgrade $695
Shaker1000 $1770
------------------------------------
Total $26835

'05 GT Premium $25705
Leather Upgrade N/C
Shaker1000 $1295
------------------------------------
Total $27000
:notnice:

You get Trim K and Option 918 with both packages, but you pay more if you set it up starting from a GT Premium. Why, these are the same car right?

Dealers, do you have a guess?

I asked if this was going to happen a looooooong time ago, right after the order guide came out. Most people thought it would be the other way around, but this was exactly what i was worried about. The thread was name "Make a Deluxe a Premium". If there is honestly no difference than that makes no sense at all.

The Shaker 1000 can only be had with the PREMIUM model.(at least that's what the 5/24/2004 marketing strategy and mix recommendations stated.)......OK, now I see on the price list it states you CAN get the Shaker 1000 WITH the DELUXE model...if that's true, GO FOR IT!!

16" wheels come with V6 deluxe, not GT deluxe (which gets 17" whether it's deluxe or premium).

If you are pre-ordering or want to get one really soon, this would be something to haggle with the dealer about. Once Mustang sales are in full swing, getting the package deal will probably be cheaper.

When the dealers realize which packages are selling the most, they will be ordering those in larger amounts. Ford usually gives discounts to dealers when they do that. The discount can usually be seen right on the sticker when equiped with that package.

If it turns out the Premium package with the Shaker 1000 is popular it may end up being cheaper that getting the Deluxe and adding the options individually. You'd actually get more options for less money.

If you want to order sooner, find a dealer that will sit with you and work the numbers. A good one who wants your business will do it

I just went through the order guide and price list and it would be cheaper to get the deluxe and the shaker 1000 than the premium and the shaker 1000. Looks pretty goofy.

Maybe I'm wrong, but is it possible that the seats are different in the premium. I think there is another thread about something like that

The Leather seats are the same for Premium GT (std.) and Deluxe GT (Opt.) according to the order guide. And there is no other feature that I see that would be different between the two cars you have priced out.

Now if you were to price a V6 Deluxe equally equipped to a V6 Premium, the pricing falls in favor of the Premium model as it should.

V6 Deluxe: $18785
Shaker 500 $665
Bright Wheels w/ Spinners $150
6-Way Power Driver Seat $365
Total $19965

V6 Premium: $19370
Shaker 500 N/C
Bright Wheels w/ Spinners N/C
6-Way Power Driver Seat N/C

Even if you went without the Spinner Wheels & 6-Way Seat it would still be $80 cheaper to get the Premium model.

This was also the case with my new '04 V6. Mach 460 and Rear Spoiler (Sports Appearnce Group) were two mandatory features. Adding these options to a Deluxe model made it more expencive than ording the base Premium model where these fetures are standard.

I'm guessing Ford will eventually correct this error on the 2005 GT pricing.

I am pretty sure the pattern on the seats is different between Delux and Premium. Same seat different patter on the leather.

And yes there was anouther thread on the seats.

Here is the thread with pictures. If this is the case the few extra bucks for the Premium is worth it as I think the bottom picture of the leather seats are ugly compared to the top two.

Actually, upon further inspection I think this may be V6 vs GT seats rather than deluxe vs premium.

You are correct, bottom photo (legend lime/dk. charcoal int.) is a Premium V6 with Leather opt., interior code "PW" (not a Deluxe GT).

Top photo (black/dk. charcoal int.) is a Premium GT or Deluxe GT w/ Leather opt., interior code "KW".

Middle photo (black/red & dk. charcoal int.) could be a Premium GT, Deluxe GT, or a Premium V6 with the IUP and ICAP options (18G & 68R) ... which is interior code "KR".

The standard V6 "Fabric Buckets" (interior codes PH, P2, & PW) are in Brad's 2005 photo gallery ... Parchment & Light Graphite (PH & P2) shown.

What we have yet to see is an actual picture of the Deluxe GT standard "Fabric Sports Buckets" (interior codes 5H, 52, & 5W). Anyone have a shot of these or were all the show cars equipped with Leather ??

Either way, you can get a lot of after-market stereo for $1300-1700. Couldn't you?
