Great deals on SCT SF3/X3 Tuners!!! - Just passing on info

Just passing on some great info for anyone in the market for a new tuner. Our good friends @ Cruizin Concepts started listing items on eBay. The tuners are listed for $379 or Best Offer. I picked one up for $260 shipped!!! Not too bad considering people on all the Mustang forums I go to are trying to sell these or an old a** X2 for $200!!! Spend an extra $60 and pick one up from them brand new w/warranty. They also offer free tunes for life like AM whenever you buy something from them that needs tuning to be installed. YMMV with this...you may get them a little lower or maybe not as low as I did. Good luck!!

My X2 went bad a couple of month's ago and I sent it back to SCT to have it fixed. It turned out the board was bad and they said they no longer had any boards for the X2 and couldn't fix it. I assume if it had been under warranty they would have replaced it for free but since it wasn't I had to pay for a new X3 , the good news was they let me have it for $200. So just as an FYI , I wouldn't buy a used X2 since if you're not the original buyer I'm not sure if they would give you a break or not ...

$379 is what I paid 1 yr ago, so $260 is a steal.

If the tuner goes bad, what happens to your stock stored tune?

Dave , I assume you were asking me ? When mine went bad they were able to pull my stock tune and the Steeda tune for my S/C off the X2 and restore them on the new X3. I don't know if there might be a case where they couldn't extract the tunes or not , depending on what's wrong , in my case it was a bad board. Also , I had the Steeda tune for my S/C loaded since I couldn't revert back to the stock tune before sending it to SCT because it wasn't working. So they had to make the Steeda tune my stock tune on the X3 and the OEM tune is one of my custom tunes. If you can I guess you should restore the stock tune before sending the unit into SCT ...

Thanks for the reply man. Wish I could back my stock tune onto a USB stick or a burned CD just in case.

I think if you get the SCT computer software , I forget what it's called , you store your tune on the computer and that's how changes are made to the tune. When I first learned the X2 couldn't be fixed , I asked them if they would be able to extract my custom tune from Steeda and they said they would try but couldn't guarantee it. So I called Steeda to check if they still had my tune saved and Gus said he wasn't sure , he'd have to check , but it turned out SCT was able to extract it so it didn't matter. I never did find out if Steeda still had my tune , so I've consider getting the software just in case since it's about the same price as a new tune ...
