well heres the story. My aunts brother owns many ford dealerships around the area. I told him about the new stang i wanted over christmas and he said he would hook me up. I went down to see one of his managers at a local dealership and he gave me a really good deal, 1k off msrp for a fully loaded gt. I thought ok, not awesome but good enough. I placed the order and 2 weeks have gone by. My neighbor heard about this and she works for jaguar headquarters. She decided to give me an xplan pin number so now im only paying 250 over the invoice price. Definitally made my week! 26k for a fully loaded gt out the door

Sounds right. Congratulations! X-plan is a good deal, unless you can get the car at A-plan. Plus the X-plan deal prevents you from paying any dealer Doc fees. The average Doc fee in my area is $285, so that's another savings.

I am working the exact same deal on mine. Very sweet indeed!

Your aunt's brother (i.e. you uncle?) owns several dealerships and it turns out your neighbor ends up getting you a better deal?! I'm having a hard time seeing how that ended up happening.

The Aunt's brother seems like such a "great" guy only screwing the kid out of a couple grand 'cause he's family! Hate to see how he treats strangers.....i.e. me and you! Take your x-plan someplace else JerseyBlue, maybe the competition will treat you like one of their own, since your's won't.

They make you provide proof that you work for the company that issues the pin. You better come up with a W-2 form.

I have a pin as well. Even if the guy will accept it when he goes to get it approved they need proof with the pin. Especially if you are getting a premium vehicle!
Ford audits the dealership. The dealerships are required to maintain a file with proof from you.
You will have to sign some forms about it and I wouldnt do it if you dont work for the company who issued it. The form indicated W-2 and payroll stubs.

I didnt have it so it mine was no good.

That kind of hot water isnt worth the $500 you save.

Just my 3 cents....

Bob,

I got an X-plan PIN from a friend and have not had to show any type of proof that I work for the company. I even asked my salesman what I needed to bring when the car comes in and he didn't mention anything about proof of working there. I ordered the car, got a DORA and all of that, just waiting now.

Are you saying that when I go to pick up my car they're going to ask for a W2 proving I work there? I would think they would have asked for it before we did the paperwork on my car that they ordered. He took the PIN and gave me a sheet showing the X-plan price, then we wrote up the sales sheet with that X-plan price.

I'm not trying to disagree with you, but could dealerships be more/less strict on how they accept the Xplan?

X-plans are for extended friends and family of those who work for Ford or Ford affiliates. You don't have to work for Ford in order to qualify. Just bring your pin and you should be fine.

Alot of this depends on how the PIN was generated. He mentioned that his neighbor worked for Jaguar. She probably has the opportunity to give out 4 x-plans per year as part of the "friends and family" program. If that is the case you don't need any special affiliation to be eligible just have a friend in the right place. If you aquired your PIN through a work affiliation, that means you are using the "partners" portion of the program. To use this you do need to prove your eligibility through a work ID, paystub, etc..

The price is the same no matter how you are eligible but the proof requirements are different.

My negotiated price was so close it was negligible. So I didnt use the pin when they asked me for W2, payroll stubs ect. They just zapped me on the price increases. By the way Karpro... they are looking at the form you provided and said they will call Ford on the definition of "invoiced" but that it looked like I was right.
They said they will get back to me next week. I sure hope I get that
price increase back. That was $$ alloted for a GPS.

JerseyBlue - I was wondering where you purchased your car.

I live in NJ and I am looking to buy a Mustang GT Convertible, but I have had limited to no luck. The best I have found so far would be a car in September/October, which would most likely be a 2006 model (since 2006 production is set to start early August).

Well xplan is usually under invoice. When I priced my gt with everything they had except shaker 1000 I think was about 27 grand or maybe that was with the 1000. Who knows, ordered lighter and got it for 24,492. Didn't need leather or the fancy interior. Glad you got a deal. When I used my xplan, I had to give him my social security number, that was it. Because when generating the pin you have to give your social security number to get it.

X plan is simply a preferred buyer plan. The dealer can offer it to anyone he pleases. I got my car X-plan because I am a repeat customer at the place where I bought it. No questions asked, no W-2, etc...
I do believe, however, that there is a limit to how many X-plan cars a dealer can sell over the course of a month or a year. Otherwise, they would simply give just about everyone the deal.

That isn't true. A dealer can offer x-plan pricing to anyone, true (heck they can just give you the car if they want to) but to get reimbursed there commission from Ford they do need the pin and eligibility proof. As far as limited numbers, if 100% were eligible, we can give it to 100% of our customers. Ford has no limits as long as the customer is eligible. They don't give everyone the deal because most dealers feel they can sell the vehicles for more money conventionally.

I got my car at the X-plan price cause i came to the salesman 2 other times within a year looking for the right vehicle, and he wanted to finally sell me a vehicle, so he gave me the X-plan, worked out great. I guess it shows if you bug the same salesman he will hook u up

I know of people that so to speak sell their X-plans to a salesman. They will give a pin to someone they do not know and the selling salesman kicks them back a few bucks for the favor.

get your facts strait and smarten up. First off i didnt explain the fact that thats the best he can do because ford was auditing the entire line of dealerships he had, he had no more plans to give out because im not blood related. Aunts brother, not my uncle. It is my uncles brother-inlaw who owns them got it?? second off i belive 1k less then msrp was not a bad deal considering the situation. I even read the mail sent to my aunts brother about having proof of a/d plans for family and how i had to be blood related or recieve a severe fine. So it wasnt a big deal, why would he lie to me? It worked out better anyhow because i got the xplan, and no, i wouldnt take my buisiness anywhere else because i was quoted 32k+ for the car i wanted. I live in a rich area and dont get any deals.

as far as everyone else, yes i talked to the dealer he said all i needed was a social number and the paperwork for the plan and thats it. should be getting my gt fully loaded for less then 26k
