Picked up my Satin Silver GT Deluxe Saturday. I know....you want pictures. I'm trying to get them put to the right file so I can send them. Not sure if the dealer gave me a fair deal. The window sticker didn't have a price. I ordered it June 14th so I guess he figured I'd take it no matter what he charged. What's up with the aftermarket mark up? I used the X Plan so that saved me quite a bit but then they added the mark up. Got it for just over $27,000 before taxes etc. . What do you all think....did I get took? IUP, Shaker 500, automatic, not to many extra's but I love it!!!!

There shouldn`t be any markup on x-plan. I ordered a satin silver gt premium w/iup side airbags and shaker 1000 for 26,323 before taxes on x-plan.

I didn't think they could screw with the X-plan price. I thought that was set by Ford.

It's one thing for a dealer to not accept plans, but to make you pay a mark up on top of an x-plan price sounds mighty sleazy to me!

How much was the markup?

Just over $27 ain't all that bad, depending on how you ordered it.

Mine is loaded with everything for an x-plan price of $27,418.33

It is set by ford. The dealer can`t mark it up. They showed me my price on the comp. order sheet after it was placed.

Well, that's what I thought. Tried to argue that with them. We told them that the X Plan was to give us a flat price. Guess we might have to give Ford a call. My Husband & I work for Nissan, yes, we are loyal to the Mustang, anways Nissan has a plan like the X Plan & if the dealer trys to mess with that they get in a whole lot of trouble. Thanks for the quick response. The mark up was $1,000. He told me other dealer were marking them up between $3,000 & $5,000. Still with the X Plan I thought I would avoid that.

68stanggirl, congrats on your new ride. I bet, not matter what the outcome of the deal, you won't be giving it back!

I have X-Plan as well. My dealer quoted me $28,644 out the door (including tax and license). I ordered a 2005 Mustang GT (Premium) Sonic Blue w/Light Graphite. Automatic, Side Airbags, IUP, Anti-Theft and wheel locks.

Love those rims. The new stang looks so much better with those rims, as opposed to the optional rims that look like they belong on a ford ranger or explorer. I am glad to see that you didn't destroy the front bumper with a license plate. the front bumper was not made to accomodate a plate. and screwing a plate into the bumper is awful and ruins it.
I am sorry to hear that they charged a mark-up. that is not right. they are taking advantage of those who are buying the new stang becuse it just came out. Give it a few months when the lots are full of stock GTs, and those bastards will be selling them at invoice. COngrats on your car.

I decided to buy my car locally this time & I already knew the salesman & I don't hold him responsible. It was the jerk pushing the pencil that I have a problem with. Tennessee is not known for the auto industry like Michigan is, so maybe this guy doesn't have a lot of people coming in with the X-Plan so he may think he can get away with this. I guess I'll just have to get out my paperwork & look for Ford's phone #.

Picked up my Silver GT last Tuesday. Ordered 6/24. IUP, Side air bags, Shaker 1000, Security system, and STANDARD WHEELS!!!! I agree that the standard wheels look great. Congrats to 68 Stang Girl!!! I like the '68(legend Lime/lime green metalic)) in the background of one of your pictures. When I ordered I told the dealer that I would not pay more than MSRP. He agreed! Total price was just over 30K including 6%PA tax, title and tags. I think that's very fair considering what some dealers are doing. A weekend trip to Washington DC on I95 produced many interesting reactions. Thumbs up, waves, offers to buy, etc. I've seen one other '05 on the road. I'd suggest to all prospective buyers that the '05 is absolutely the best Mustang to date.(I bought a 64½ Coupe new in May of 1964 and still have it) DO NOT pay the dealer add-on to MSRP...within several months production will catch up with demand and the pricing will stabilize. The dealers that are "adjusting" the sticker prices should be boycotted. Look what they did to the T-bird. Be patient!
