edit: I'm getting conflicting theories on whether I should drive it in the winter or not. I've got two beaters sitting here, so I'm probably going to drive those.

Everyone should keep beaters, because you can keep your insurance down by adding the stang as a secondary vehicle.
EXACTLY what I am doing Grantsdale. Besides the fact that my current car isn't worth crap as a trade in, it steadily gets 30-40 MPG, so why not keep it as the daily beater, save on the gas AND on insurance costs by having the Stang as a recreational car, low on usage type of thing.

Put the hard miles on the beater, and can use it for parking at movie theaters, shopping malls etc. Noone is going to give my current driver a second glance for theft, keying, whatever.

I traded my daily driver for my 05 so I need to locate a beater also, no snow for my new baby.

Nice car grantsdale how many dealerships did you go to before you settled on that viechle. If i am lucky enough to get 2005 gt sometime in the future it,s probably going to be a plain cloth gt with sonic blue, redfire and windveil blue being my colour preferences the car would look good in any one of those choices to me i,ve got a silver 2001 gt now my previous car was a teal 1994 gt that was not a colour that i liked very much at all!

I am so happy to see you got your ride. Now you can report from the drivers seat!!!
Tell us is the shaker 1000 worth the cost? The door skins on what was my Gt move in and out with the 500. If I turned it up full it would blow my ear drums out. Does your trunk lid bulge when you crank it?
Do you get your lic. plates at the dealer? Don't understand, advise. Is it going to sleep in the garage? Are you going to sleep in it !!!

I'm going to crank the shaker tomorrow, so I'll let you know. I think its worth the cost because any enclosure I built has no chance of fitting so well into the trunk.

I did get D-Plan though, so that takes some of the cost off.

I'm so very upset it rained all day today, put it in the garage and didn't take it out.

Taking it tomorrow for a ride and going to crank up the shaker to a decently high level ... but even at low volumes its LOUD. Sound quality so far is very good, better than I expected. We'll see what happens when I crank it up some.

Congrats on the car man! I'm partial to the black myself, but as I've said before this car looks good in any of the colors.

Shaker 1000 Impressions:

Wow. Loud. Even at barely half volume, the speakers fill the car extremely well, and sub is thumping pretty hard. I should say that I tested with the new Linkin Park vs Jay-Z album, so you're getting some rock/metal and rap together.

At low volumes, the sound is crystal clear. I'm very impressed by it at what I consider a normal volume. Cranking it up, its clear as well, just loud and clear. I'm not too keen on cranking it all the way, it would not only annoy my neighbors but it might do some damage to the windows. Its that loud.

I would recommend it to anyone who wants a sub in the trunk, because you are only losing about 2 cubic feet of trunk space for 2 12" subs. If you put your own in there, you are going to lose more than that. Plus you don't have to run wires and all that good stuff.
