Got broken into today :(

I parked at the college underground and 2 hours later came back to see my car got broken into from the passenger window. all that was gone was my radar detector, ironically there was a cop nearby and when he was filing a report he asked me what was missing i had to say "gps" :P

it was a total sadness to see glass shattered all around the car, i spent 3 hours vacuuming and wiping the glass dust off the dash and between the seats.. im going back there tomorrow even though i dont have class, just sit in my car for 3 hours and wait for someone to show up with a stick..it was clearly pried open, because nobody threw anything through the window. when the cop was filing the report i asked for a finger print analysis and he said "we'd have to take it at 7am and just so u know the ink marks get pretty messy and we're not responsible for it, but it doesnt look like theres gonna be any fingerprint from the looks of it, no blood, no fingerprints on the quarter panel" (bs)

i was too pissed/sad/shocked to take videos or photos at the crime scene, but my friend came over to help me clean the glass dust between the seat creases with a toothbrush.

Sorry about your loss. I had a car of mine get broken into nine years ago, and it still irks me when I think about it. Odds are nothing will ever be done about it, at least around here it is a very low priority, they usually don't even send a cop out.

Why lie to the cop about your radar detector though?(unless you're in VA where they are illegal). Mine was stolen when my car was broken into and I told the cop about it. He did ask me what I needed one of those for, I told him the truth, and he listed it with all the other things that were taken. My insurance company (State Farm) specifically said they don't cover radar detectors, but since they are such nice guys, they went ahead and paid out for it anyways.

Man that sucks .... I had my last Mustang a 90 stolen on Super Bowl night 95 and like I told the cop , "That's why there's no deductible on windshields , you can shoot the a.. hole through it and it's covered."

you mean your gps, your collection of 75 cd's, the 75.00 bucks you had in the console, several books you had in there for school.......
what a drag hope the window doesn't cost you to much. They don't need a bat to break your window they can break it with a center punch

That really stinks. At least your car is still there. I work right after class and ever since my Dodge was stolen, I refuse to leave any thing of value in the Mustang. That's what happens when you get paranoid.

Wont help after the fact. This looks like something real useful. Not only for break ins but also for when the other guy runs a light then lies about it.

Does your car have an alarm? If so, did it go off?

Dunno what all that woulda done in this case.... but hey, if it makes you feel better about coming back to a vandalized car with stuff missing and nobody to shoot... Good on ya.

I just have to bite on this one ... What if you coming back to your car to find someone breaking into it? What if when they saw you they pulled a knife on you? Bubba, Jerome, Jose', etc doesn't want to go back to jail after all this would be his third strike. I'm with Arin and it just makes sense.

I actually have experience with that. Two against one. I let them have the car. Wasn't worth gettin holed for.

/sucked royally.
//Didn't have a gun, so...
///if it were just the one guy, I woulda probably kicked his *** six ways to Sunday, but the other guy woulda holed me, so they got it.
////Which is fine, because I **hated** that Mark VIII.

That's not what I was saying. There are many instances of normal car burglaries turn into a homicide. Irregardless, I think that's a different thread. I'll stop now.
