Goodyears not offered anymore. Will try Michelins
I sure liked everything my old Goodyears offered, from dry to wet to even snow during a Canadian vacation. After 5 years and 30,000 miles it was time for a new set before another long distance trip. After quite a bit of research when I learned my Goodyears were no longer available in my size, I went with the 'new' Michelin Pilot Sport Ultra High Performance A/S 3+. Highly rated for all the same things that my Goodyears did plus this new compound supposedly handles snow even better than the prior A/S 3 version. I never plan on driving in snow but sure enough you hit it every now and then. Pricey tires for sure but not when they last 5 years. It breaks down to very little per year. I got these for $895 'out the door' (tires, tax, high speed balancing, valve stems, etc..). I'll find out about my choice as the miles add up. Bottom photo courtesy of Tire Rack.

You should be with happy with those Dave. The Michelin's I've had were excellent, and long lasting. I went with the Goodrich G Force on the wife's. And while they are great tires, I have never gotten use to the side walls. They look a bit truckish to me. After searching for a tire that suited me for the use my '06 will get I went with the Falkin Ziex. Those are better than I expected for just puttering around.
FYI, a lot of the guys on the Corvette Forum use the Sport A/S non-run flats on their C7's. They give them high praise.

Goodyears are good tires, but they don’t last worth shizot. The last time I had Goodyears on a car was waaay back in the late 80’s/early 90’s as OEM Eagle GT +4s on my 1989 Chevy Cavalier Z24. Never went back to them when it was time for a new set. Have used BFGs and Michelin’s on my current (BFG Touring T/A 1983 SL Benz, PSSs 2010 BMW 335i) and previous vehicles (MXV4+1998 Nissan Maxima) and have been satisfied with them. This past summer, I switched to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ on my Stang which replaced the second set of OEM Pirelli P Zero Neros. I should have gone with these Michelins when I replaced the 1st set of Pirelli PZeros Neros, but oh well. The ride, handling, and road grip is much better with the A/S 3+ over the OEM Pirelli’s and so far tread life is still like new.

I second the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3s as I now have these on my 2006 GT after fighting with Pirelli Zeros recently. My original Neros lasted a decent 50K so I re-upped with them. The second set were a disaster....shaking, multiple road force balancings, hours wasted rotating. Pirelli refused to stand behind their garbage so with 2K, I replaced with the Michelin AS 3s and all is great and better than before. I se that FORD has switched to Michelin for the 2018 Mustangs and now I know why!!

I sure liked the Goodyears on my Mustang as I stated in my first post. I was looking for them again, but no A/S choices for my size rim. It was just a matter of them getting old and getting too low on tread for serious rainfall or snow for my long distance travels. I think the 30k miles I got out of the set was fine.
I agree, best tires I have ever owned. I think he was mostly upset with the longevity of the Goodyears in his instance.

I dont understand when people want a tire to be really sticky and last for a long time. The two don't go together.

As for my Stang, this is the first set of A/S 3+ which I expect toget more than 50,000+ miles. Will see when that time comes and when I do I will go with the same set again.

Yep! I didn't like the short tread life of the Goodyears even though they were good tires. With the Michelin’s, I get great road grip and handling comparable to Goodyears, but with longer tread life. On my 2010 335i,I replaced the OEM RFTs with Michelin PSSs and got nearly 40,000 miles out of them. Replaced them with a second set of PSSs in May of last year at 71,591 miles on the odo. As of today, my ride has about 83,400+ miles and the tread is still good so I expect to get about another 40,000 miles on them. Come time to replace the second of PSSs, they will be discontinued and replaced with the Pilot Sport 4 S so I will go with those.
As for my Stang, this is the first set of A/S 3+ which I expect toget more than 50,000+ miles. Will see when that time comes and when I do I will go with the same set again.

They better be!!
No problem bro!
Well worth the money. They stick to the road like glue, even in the rain, and are great on those corners. I like how I can take a long curving exit ramp off the 'I' at 65+ MPH.
My Stang the day I got the new A/S 3+. Big difference over the OEM Pirelli P Zero Neros.

I was going to ask that question so glad to see it was already answered. Goodyear, like all companies, makes a LOT of different tires that are very different from each other so you really have to be specific about which ones we are talking about.
I had a set of the F1's (the older ones that came on a 2010 GT500) and I thought they were pretty good also. The gave real good life for a 200 tread wear rated tire. They were actually pretty good on the road track too. They get a bad rap, mainly for being bad in the rain . . . and yeah they were pretty bad in the rain, especially when the tires were near the end of their life.

My old Goodyears were the Eagle GT A/S.
Update on the new Michelins: OUTSTANDING! We were in snow and rain during our western vacation. As wonderful a tire as one could expect. Just drove in the rain again yesterday in the twisties here in the mountains. May be the best rain tire yet. They have close to 7,000 miles on them now.
