Went to visit my buddy in Palmdale, CA for the new years weekend. I was still right around the break in period, going from 860 to 1200 on the odometer from Phoenix to Palmdale. I was doing respectable on alot of the trip, depending on where I had the car at for the speedo. Anything from 22.5 to just over 24. I gassed up right after getting onto CA-138 and for the remainder of the trip it was a 2 lane highway going fairly slow until the end where it was city traffic.

I looked down to see the average MPG before I entered to city driving to see a whopping 28.3 down there. Hella respectable for a V8 that is barely broken in. Even by the time I got to my friends place through the city driving, it was still showing 27.5. That was using alot of 5th gear only doing 40-60 MPH.

Well, the 28.3 was gotten at a steady 55-60 MPH with no lights. When I was back in Phoenix city driving, 16-18 sometimes up to 20 depending on how much of I-10, I-17, Loop 101 I use.

Indeedy. One of the main reasons I didn't use my '94 Dodge Colt as a trade in. She gets a steady 30 MPG in the city, and can get up to 40 MPG on the freeways.
