A Good Deal on Mobil 1 Oil
Got this info from a thread on FordPower.net. For those of you who use Mobil 1 synthetic. Go to Pep Boys and pick up a calender called "Cool Cars" it's only 1 dollar. Turn to June, you will see a coupon to buy three quarts, get three free. It also has a few other good cupons in it as well. Went down and bought my calendar today. Coupon expires December 31, 2005. Hey, I just noticed the 2005 expiration. I might go get a couple more.

Mine took 6.5 to fill.
Mine took 6.5 to fill.
LOL that could be a problem.
Well from experience I've never had those numbers match up on any of my vehicles.
I can recall my S-10 taking a half a quart less, and my 280ZX taking a half a quart more. My new Pilot takes a half a quart more
I see a pattern...
Call the X-Files team...I smell a conspiracy!

When I was a grease-monkey as a teenager, I noticed that just about every car I worked on took about 1/2 a quart more than the manufacturer recommended. This is still true for my Accord, and RSX-S. Nothing to be concerned about. After you are done changing oil, run it for a minute then shut off. Wait a minute, then check the dipstick 2x. Wipe the first dip off as it is innacurate, then check the second time. If it is at the top of the full line, you are good. If it is at the bottom of the range, you probably need to add a quart. You can figure out the math if it's inbetween.

I sure hope Blue Oval News doesn't get wind of this. They'll be saying that Ford is stopping production due to "off-spec" oil pans...
I just love a good conspiracy!
Thanks for the tip on the 2005 Cool Car Calendar. With the coupon in the calendar for $1.00 you get 3 qts of Mobil 1 free with the purchase of 3 qts. A lot of other frre and discounts. The coupon doesn't expire until 12/31/2005. I bought 10 calandars. Not every day that you can get 30 quarts of Mobil 1 for $.34 per quart. Thanks again

No free oil changes for life? You need to talk to the finance man at your dealers. I got oil, filter change and tire rotation as well as car washes and loaner car.

I bought two calendars and two cases of Mobil 1. I suspect I'll pick up 2-4 more cases. Going tomorrow for my free oil change from the dealer at 725 miles. I'll now wait until 2,000 miles and do the next change with Mobil 1 from then on at 3,000 miles.

When I first bought my car home I checked all fluids the next day & it was down .5 qt. of oil. So when I did the change I put in 6, ran it. Next day checked, & was down.5qt.
Thanks Joe for the tip on the Mobil 1. We don't have too many Pep Boys in our area, but I passed one the other day & bought 6 calendars & 6 cases of 0w-20. I cleaned them out. Great deal getting Mobil 1 for $2.50 a Qt.
Also got a bunch of the Chevron fuel injection cleaner. Buy 1 get 1 free.
I'm going back again soon. Have 6 cars in the family. Plus the racer.
