Need your guys' input. Is this a good deal or not?

Dealship is "Bob Baker Ford" located in Mission Valley.

Seems to be over MSRP, but not by much. Think this deal would be a snag?

Check your calculations, that is MSRP.

Actually.... MSRP is about 700 less than the dealer's asking price.

That price is slightly higher than MSRP for that car with those options. I did the math and that car costs 22,280.86 at MSRP (assuming 240 assesment, 20.86 gas, and 625 delivery charge). Those same options at invoice cost (read closer to what the dealer actually paid for the car) is 20,476.86 (same assumptions on costs). The only thing I don't have included in the price here is the paperwork fee for the guy to run around for you to get the car registered. But that shouldn't be more than a couple of hundred anywho. So in my opionion, that is too much money for that car. Even with it being a popular car, I wouldn't pay over 1k over invoice. That would be 21,476.86 + paperwork fee + TTL.

Whoops, missed the leather seating, which is 695 at MSRP (619 at invoice). So add those 2 numbers to my calculations

You might be able to talk them down some, but it is much better than some of the deals I've read about. I guess it could be a few thousand bucks over MSRP :notnice: If this is the car that you really want right now, I say go for it, but if you don't mind waiting a few more months, Ford will have the mustang out in force. Of course, by then we will only have 4 wheels, a seat and a steering wheel, if they keep running out of parts.

Yea, I was normally going to wait it out a few months, but, I heard they are raising up the price next month? So...

Have you looked into the Costco Auto Purchase Program or the Auto Club of Southern California auto purchase program?
I am near LAX and all the dealers are marking them up over MSRP. I just took delivery at $499 over factory invoice, went through the auto club program and I am very pleased.

I'm not getting why people are exceited about a dealer that will *settle* for MSRP. Fer christ sake, a well optioned GT at MSRP is going to give the dealer about 3,200 bones in pure profit for nothing. :nono: :bang:

I just put a little effort into it, and got my deal for 1k over invoice. I don't consider that to be stellar, other than the fact that the car is selling like crazy atm. If it were several months down the road, I would only be happy around invoice.

It's just alot of the dealers down here won't even negotiate price around invoice... they just think i'm crazy whenever I mention wanting to purchase an 05 stang at around invoice price.

Go through the Auto Club. If you have to buy one thru my dealer near LAX., save some decent cash. Drive home the 180 miles or so and have a good time saving money. Isn't a few hours worth a few thousand dollars to you?

Well, see... if I did purchase an 05' stang all the way over in LAX... and my car needed maintinence... i'd have to drive all the way back down to LAX... which would really stink.

No you don't, you can get it serviced at any Ford dealership.
